Anyone installed a Stebel Nautilus Air Horn in a GTS? There just aint enough room behind the legshield for me to mount one.

Maybe you need to split the unit like this?

I thought I read that it was being placed behind the left legshield knee cover?? This would not work though if you put the alarm there or other gadgets Laughing emoticon

I'd love to see your final solution documented with photo's though. I'm sure you will figure it out for us Curt

My dealer did it for me. And they put it where the Vespa horn is. I gave them these instructions. They did not mention having a problem.

I mounted one of the Fiamme Highway Blasters where the stock horn is located and can vouch that it is one tight sumbitch in there!

I had to bend the mounting bracket back and twist it a bit to get it in. Be sure to put your "little" fingers on before you start, and try not to drop anything inside the body...

Good luck...

Sure thing. The other thing I should have mentioned, is that they installed it when the scooter was completely apart for my custom paint job. So they might have had more access to things because of that. Just a thought.

I'll try to get a pic for ya.

I got my Stebel on Monday, $42 shipped from that guy in Washington.
This weekend I will be tearing all apart and mounting it...somehow.
The pic from Tikka (thanks!) expands the options, there is also the 'critical' mount option as drawn on the comprehensive instruction manual .
That looks like it needs a seperate compressor though, but the little adaptor is included in the kit (nice).
The only doubt I have about an extension hose as in T.M's photo is it will most probably cause a longer delay between jam and honk....
All that air in the hose will need to be compressed first.
I'm in it with you, I hope we can compare notes over the coming install,
cheer's,
marc

Hey Curt,
any luck/tips with the Stebel yet?
I'm about to start pulling the scoot apart tonight to get a clear
shot at it in the morning.

Curt!.......cutting.... noooo.
here's how far I've got.
I must admit a couple Corona's got in the way, so I'll be
'fine tuning' tomorrow, it's all fun.

I'm thinking a 'custom' twisted metal bracket and a bunch of foam padding and it's all a bolt up.
dude, grinder?
