It seems that most people are pretty close to their scooters.

I was just wondering:

Does your scooter have a name?

If so, what is it... and why that name?

well... since I never got to discuss it, mine is named "sasha". Any scrubs fan will know where that comes from.

I haven't been able to pick just one name. Officially, it is "Vesputin" ... AKA "Silver Surfer" because my hair is getting closer and closer to the (current) colour of my scoot!

I have to repaint the scooter as a result of my bone headed fall and if I decide to use a different colour, the name will likely change.

I'm postive this was discussed before. At the time I replied that "Miranda" is from Shakespeare's last (good) play, "The Tempest", the character Miranda being the daughter of a wizard, very innocent but meaning a thing of beauty to behold, which is a rough translation from Itallian/Spanish I believe.

And his only one with an original plot (i.e., one that wasn't ripped off from classical theater)! Or at least that's what my college professor told me.

Mine is called Monica. Its important to name your scooter, i think. It adds to their personality. See, i'm humanising her already! A bit of anthropomorphism helps us to take better care of our inanimate objects.

Ushi (丑) is the zodiac Ox in Japanese, not Chinese:). The Chinese word (same Kanji, same Zodiac) is chou(3)...in any case, it's a rockin' name for a scooter.

...my scooter's name is Ciufut, which is a Romanian word that was translated in a French movie as "râleur," or something that makes a lot of grumbling noises. I have no idea what sense it has in Romanian--probably not nice--but I saw the film right about the time I got my Vespa and it seemed appropriate.
