WTF???
Clearly spam-sucking trailer trash was left out of consideration. Is that why "My Name is Earl" was cancelled? |

It's funny - and yes there are those who will scream racism. It looks like it was written (I hope so anyway) a bit tongue in cheek. However in today's society where everything seems to be defined by race, religion or politics, I'm sure there will be many offended by it. I admit, I can almost her the screaming if black, hispanic or anyother identifyer was there ipo
`white'. |

I love it when idiots try and make me feel guilty for being a white guy they always end up mad and frustrated. I'm the worst nightmare of the pc movement.

Of course it is! But funny. Especially after reading some of the more 'precious' threads to be found on forums.

Step One, get them talking about their Vespa (easy). Step Two, start asking them why they didn't save money by getting a Honda or Suzuki that gets the same mileage. Step Three, see how many of the following justifications a white person will use during the ensuing rant: environment, parking, urban lifestyles, union labor, writers, fuel efficiency, Roman Holiday, study abroad, and being into Vespas before other people. |

This is waaay too close to home.
Especially the part about the liberal arts degree and steady income. I hate being nailed as a white guy, but as with ANYTHING, there is a reason for stereotypes... |

I'm probably not alone in bookmarking that site - it's great.
There's also the Brompton Bugle on for a quick swipe at middle England. |

Let's see....since I'm an Asian and have both a Honda Metro (wife's scoot but I love riding it!) and a Vespa GT200...then keeping in mind I want to live within the norm of what is the essence of this article...I should sell the Vespa...O.K. no problem...Not!

Ha Ha. I put it in my favorites too. I think the white people they are talking about are yuppies not rednecks.

You've got to be able to laugh at yourself.....
Particularly liked this (don't know that it's true though): Finally, the Vespa has produced one of the great paradoxes in white culture. Vintage Vespas are infinitely cooler than newer ones, but the vintage models produce more pollution than most automobiles. If you know a white person going through this dilemma, just say something like "the amount of energy and carbon used to produce a new scooter will probably cancel out the emissions from your vintage one." Problem solved forever. |

I don't find it offensive at all. And I happen to be the sort of person this site sets out to satirize. In fact, if you go down his list of posts, I really do like pretty much everything there. You can't take yourself too seriously, y'know? |

That was excellent. It's a good thing I'm too much of an egomaniac to realize it's about me.

Oh dear. #122. I have more than one Moleskine notebook. I carry a pocket sized one everywhere in case I need to make a note about something (anything!), use a large one at work for every meeting and conference call.... and then save them when they are full.

There are much more offensive and gross things in this world than a tongue-in-cheek website laughing about how precious middle-class caucasians think their world and possessions are. I'm one of them...ask me how I know?
We're all too damned full of ourselves. Laugh at the things that are funny and change that crap that isn't. Just quit moaning. |
