This weeks been odd for me as I've taken 2 people on the back of my scoot who've never been on a scooter (or motorbike) before. Both of them loved the experience and have been asking for more rides.

Is this the best way to get people into scooters or is it just exposing people to needless risk (I do ride very carefully with passengers but there's still a risk element isn't there) ?

Thinking about it far too much Laughing emoticon

And yes, if a virgin passenger loves the ride, then of course they will want more

Yep, it is the way to convert new cult members in my experience.

I then tell them its much better when you ride your own... nobody wants to be my bitch.

I took my first pillion this week ('er indoors) and she wasn't quite so keen: said it was "wobblier" at slow speeds than she expected. I reckon it's probably because the ET4 is a light wee bike and I'd never done it before. That's my excuse anyway!
She did (completely out of the blue) start talking about doing her CBT but seemed to be bluffing, given her muted reaction to my very enthusiastic response. Her thoughts seemed to be that the idea would make me worry about her safety. My thoughts immediately went to what our second bike would be!

Don't be downhearted. There's bound to be someone out there. Patience.

The 2 passengers I had this week couldn't be more different - the first was a young but incredibly stupid lad (can I say that here?). I'd heard he could play tennis quite well so I took him to my club. He couldn't stop talking and wouldn't stop rocking wildly from side to side to get the best view. The inane chatter almost made me feel that a small crash would of been a blessing. At the end of the journey he was telling me how he was looking forward to riding with me every weekend - thinking fast I told him about some of the nastier accidents I've had and I think I managed to dissuade him.

The other passenger was far more fun - a young lady who insisted on only wearing a t-shirt and flip flops and kept me laughing for the whole trip. I did point out that the gear wasn't very safety conscious but seeing as I was wearing the same I couldn't argue too much. Sadly I think my wife will object if I take her around too much.
