Why is this light there on the dash of the lx150? My headlights are always on. Do I really need to be reminded of this?

you would be surprised the amount of times I have forgotten that my lights were on only to look down and confirm that, yes, my lights are on.

It stays on to let you know that the light that stays on to let you know that your lights are staying on is still working.

Some sales areas still have light switches - it's cheaper to have a standard harness and dash, and just blank off the switch for sales where 'headlights on always' is the norm. On some models (X9s for one) the 'headlight on' lamp will go out if the headlamp blows. Other models don't do that current sensing, the lamps are just in parallel.

Lights on
If the fridge had them, we would not be able to ask if the light goes out when the door is shut.

That light also tells you WHICH beam you are on, high or low. Not such an issue during the day, but certainly an issue at night. I am thinking the low beam is green and the high beam is blue. Two years and 1300 miles on my LX and I can't visualize the instrument cluster at this moment.

I'm still trying to figure out why my friend's stella's cluster has a light that tells him that he is braking....he damn well better know he is braking....
Maybe they thought it was going on to a Lambretta and used the wrong "breaking" |

I suppose the braking light tells you not so much that you're braking, but that the brake light is on. Don't you often use the brake light to warn motorists behind you?
Of course when you do that, you probably shouldn't be looking at the dash... |

For Salima, blue tells her that her high beam is on, which gives her more visibility during the day than the low beam. So, those do have a purpose for us. |

Do you have any idea how many pence that bulb costs to run? ![]() I have to admit, I thought frugal was more of a complimentary term than the context would suggest, so I suppose that's one part of the stereotype I can live up to. That's not the same as "tight", right enough - I might strive to be frugal, but it won't stop me getting a round in! If there's drinking to be done I'm never one to shirk responsibility for that. Perhaps yet another part of the stereotype being lived up to. "Culture" eh? Glasgow's burstin' wae it! Anyway, sorry to drag this off topic. nigelthefish wrote: Maybe they thought it was going on to a Lambretta and used the wrong "breaking" ![]() |

Well when I say "like" I really mean it tickles me a bit. Have you seen the Chewin' the Fat sketches with Rab McGlinchey interpreting for the Neds? Fucking awesome. The Scottish Parliament Website has a Scots language section that I find a tad patronising. Maybe I'm just not getting it. ETA: Apologies again for the threadjacking, I'll stop now... |

Bending down is something I avoid unless it is necessary or really worth it. If I see (or drop) a coin on the floor, I will wad up a dollar bill and drop it near the coin. Then, it is worthwhile for me to bend down and get the coin.

Maybe they thought it was going on to a Lambretta and used the wrong "breaking" You are supposed to squeeze the front brake, but not the pedal. If you stop but the red light doesn't come on, you have to replace the switch again, again, again, again, AGAIN, AGAIN, AGAIN, AGAIN, AGAIN... Remember to stock up. Six or seven replacement switches in your glovebox should do. Oh, buy a few gas sender units while you're at it. Or just try and find a Piaggio version of the switch which is plastic but lasts much longer. |

The real question is why they bothered spending the money on a light to tell you that a light is on when it is always on INSTEAD of an clicker to tell you when your turn signal is on.
