Has anyone mounted an E-Z Pass on their MP3? I may be going over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge a lot this summer and don't want the hassle of digging out quarters at the toll booth.

I've seen a few things for motorcycles that attach to the handbars, but the MP3 doesn't have enough space to attach the mount. Anyone been successful with finding a place to put the transponder?

I put mine in a small vinyl pouch, placed on the glare shield below the windshield, and clipped to a nearby bungee for a little extra security against bumps knocking it off the bike. I thought I'd have to take the tag out of the pouch at the tollbooth, but it worked right away.

A couple posts down in page two of this thread Chattanooga meet - riding the Dragon (Post 665706) is a picture of Jerry's windshield. The sticker with the "T" on it is his easy pass. Texas has apparently gone to a much smaller technology than when I lived in Houston. I just thought it was a sticker and had to ask Jerry what it is. He said you cannot remove it without destroying it so theft is not a problem.

Unfortunately I have the technology used by all the mid-Atlantic states - the 3" square plastic beige box. They do make a license plate tag, but it has to go on the front license plate, which of course, I don't have.

Some folks have had success with putting it in their pocket, but it seems to be hit or miss. There's not a solution that seems to work for everyone.

I pulled my wind screen off and mounted it to the back of the wind screen so it's out of site and can't be stolen.

That is what I had in Houston a few years back. Of course that was before my enlightenment and I was driving a cage. My wife refused to stick hers to the windshield had pulled it out of the arm rest and held it up to the window everytime she went through. No toll roads around here so not a problem.

Wayne's idea looks like a good one. Pretty simple task.

use velco so you can remove it when you get off the scoot and store it so no one can steal it. Heck you could even velco it to the top of your helmet, or just anywhere that you like.

I too use industrial strength velcro. I have never lost it and I can remove if I am not going over any bridges. Absolutely confident that it will not come off. I use the same velcro for my garage door opener and that gets way more wear and tear and never even a hint of coming loose. I have the 250 so I put the velcro for my pass on the black cover just behind my windshield. The velcro strip I use for the garage door opener is about 2.5 inches wide and 4 inches long - about the same for my pass. The width of the strip I use for my pass isn't wide enough to cause and trouble with the curve of the cover so I get full velcro coverage. It isn't exactly centered so there is less of a curve too.

I also have been using Velcro for 2 years now. I go over the Tobin bridge (Boston) 6 days a week. Take it off each time and put it back on and never had any problems. I have it mounted on the stock windshield. If it ever falls off it should end up in the space between the windshield and the dashboard.

Not that I have ever done this, but I have noticed!

On the toll roads in So. Cal the road sensors do not go completely across all lanes. There is about a 2 foot section between the 2 lanes sensors (right where the lane divider is). Very easy to drive the MP3 right thru that section. Again not that I have ever done that, but it should be easy.

I've seen the suggestion of squeezing by the sensors by hugging the lane to one side, but I don't want the ticket.

Velcro it is. I'm not sure why I thought I needed to do something different than I do in the cage. I think I'll try to insert it right behind the windshield.

Thanks all for pointing out the obvious.

I like it behind the wind screen out of site as I stated above. I don't have to worry about forgetting it and being stolen. Now you do have to have one just for the scooter, but that just makes sense, as you will forget it when switching one between multiple vehicles and in states like NJ you will get ticketed for not using the right Smart Tag in the vehicle. (They must make money off each one) It's only a $15-$25 deposit, NO monthly fee and min $20 on the account now I think.

Nice that it is hidden out of view....but changing battery now becomes a chore...no? (I change mine once a year). Velcro and a good memory is my choice
