Modern Vespa

Hi everyone, l m very new on the forum, l had an et4 2001 for 3 years and for a week l m driving without headlight....that s uncool...

I wondered if anyone could help me?
the headlight stopped working. Ive bought new bulbs and it still didnt work. The sidelight comes on. The high beam panel light doesnt come on when switched on either.
Every other lights on the bike comes on apart from the headlight. Ive traced the wiring and think it could be a relay(?) Its a 5 pin small black box with the words TRW Sipea 2855 12v/30a on it. Do you know if this could be the problem and what it is???

It could well be the relay - replacements are cheap to test by substitution - it could also be the control feed to the relay from the light switch (if fitted). The latter is the more likely - easy to clean up but also cheap to replace.

Do you have a 'light switch' on your right-hand handlebar? If so, that switch is more likely to be faulty than the relay, but the relay can also fail. That 'light switch' controls a feed of 12V to the relay which allows high current to be fed to the lamps themselves.
