Can you please take a picture of the rear brake arm and the position of the cable like i have taken.

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text
To cut a long story short, i recently replaced my rear brake cable after the threaded end sheared off while i was adjusting it.
Upon picking up and fitting the new one supplied by the lovely people at Vespa all is not well.
Now i have no rear brakes I am sure they have somehow given me the wrong cable as im sure it is too long. The arm is all the way to the back to the corrugated rubber bit and still only just bites the wheel.
Many thanks for helping out if you can 8)

Looking at your pic, it seems to me that the new cable assembly isn't routed properly. The steel stop sleeve, the one with the small flange on it, needs to be held stationary by the frame or some type of bracket that won't move. This will keep the outer sheath in one place while the brake cable slides back and forth in it.

I can almost see a loop in the frame that the cable should have been snaked through. Unless that sleeve is held fast, the brake will never work.

This is not my ET4 (It hasn't looked that clean since the day I bought it ). I picked this image up from somewhere on the web when I was looking for info on adjusting my rear brake. Hope it helps.
