Modern Vespa

Hello to all on Modern Vespa,its only polite that i introduce myself,i have had a quick gander through one or two threads and seen a real 'orrible picture of someone i know from the x9 forum(some old fool who thinks he's still young)hello Jim i've got no doubt i will know a few more on here.

So who am i....My name is Steve from Watford in Herts and i have a stable with various rides,a big Harley tourer,a Burgman 650 exec,a Quad ATV and my Claude Butler mountain bike.

Why have i all of a sudden popped up here,one reason is a good friend of mine has just sold her Harley as it was too heavy for her and her dodgy hip,but as she still wants to ride i have suggested a scooter and i think the maxi scoots will be a bit wieghty,so we are looking at a gts 250/300.I am no expert on the mechanics,but have heard of no major pitfalls of the gts's or any of the modern vespa's.

If the truth be known i am quiet smitten on the 250/300 and will struggle to keep my hand in my pocket.Moonraker motorcycles are doing a good deal at the moment £3600.00 inc a top box for the 300 model.I am off to get myself ready for breakfast at the Ace now and will update you later as weather or not we have found a scooter for my friend Pauline.

I got my GTS 300 from Moonraker's (cheaper than getting one here in Birmingham...even with delivery) and I couldn't be happier.

I say go for it!

Yep the old boy does luv a bevvie or two,its my guess he's away this weekend as he was a no show at the Ace,but he aint reknowned for being an early riser,infact only me and Bazza from the normal "ace breakfast crew"it was chopper club day there today,nice paint jobs,but painful looking rides 8)

I was so sorely tempted to get the 'special paint job' GTS300 that JT had last year. Still kicking myself to some extent.

Yep, missed the Ace again today, sigh. Must try harder...

If your friend has a dodgy hip, you might want to get her to check she can get the scooter up on it's stand - i know I struggle with my GT200...
