From previous experience the Piaggio engines are top notch and during my ownership of 4 X9's one of the 250's i owned went bang on me,when i sang bang it was a loud bang and i was leading a ride out to Norwich and beyond,it turned in to a warranty job, otherwise i had no problems.

I do believe its a 6k miles gap for services now,i doubt Pauline will reach that figure in a year,i hope to get her on a test ride in the next couple of weeks and i just hope i dont fall for one myself. The GTS 300 is a 100kg's lighter than her old Harley, that alone is boosting her confidence, insurance turns out to be halved as well.

I don't think I've actually met Pauline, but your previous stories of encouraging her to ride make me think a GTS might be ideal for her.

Actually, if you've still got room in your garages I think one would suit you too.

Hello Jim......Yep,i think it will suit her to a "T"she hacked about on a Honda 125 twist'n'go in India, her hubby said she enjoyed it,so i think its a definite maybe for her,as for me Jim dont encourage me,i am easily lead, insurance is very reasonable

Just think of all the great customised paint-jobs etc you could do.

Found one on ebay, that we thought would suit.My mate Ed bid on it and was winning, but the guy was having a ride on it last Friday in the scorching sunshine and someone in a mondeo pulled out in front of him,the little Vespa 250 is no more and has reportedly gone to the Vespa graveyard in the sky.

Bummer.

There are many more out there though - and she might do well to get a new one.
