Modern Vespa

Yesterday, I had my 2k service on my 300. After picking up the bike, went to visit a friend and putted around town a bit. All appeared "normal". The ride home was about an 80-mile ride, mostly on the freeway, speeds around 70, give or take, WOT most of the time.

I noticed a new, strange behavior of the code light. When I pulled into the gas station in my town to fill up, I turned off the key, (without removing it), and the code light started blinking. Thinking it wouldn't start, visions of trying to figure out how to get my bike home came into my mind. Previous to this, the code light only blinked after removing the key from the ignition.

After the gas station, it was only a few miles to home, and once again, the code light blinked when the ignition was turned off, but with the key still in the ignition.

Shop is closed today for the holiday, so I can't phone and ask. Is this something I need to be concerned about?

It has always done that. You just noticed it.

I guess not. I thought the code light only blinks after I remove the key from the ignition. Thanks for setting me straight.
