Hello,

I live in Vancouver, BC and I am considering buying my first Vespa in Washington, (2006 150LX, listed for $2800).

Is anyone familiar with the process of importing it if it is on the importable list? How does the insurance work from Canada? Any comments or advise would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I was surprized to see 2006-07 LXs on the allowable import list. That must be a new addition.

Here is a government website that can answer some questions. http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/safevehicles/importation/usa/index.htm

It may be worth while checking with your local customs house to see about the paperwork and costs involved. It may not be all that involved. Still, you'd be disappointed to find out at the border that you missed a necessary detail.
