Thanks Matt. I leaned it out a tad and the power feels better. The screw was out 3 turns, I screwed it in 1/2 a turn.

What about the petcock? Should I replace it?- does not seem to be doing anything.


Guys, I'll post some more pics shortly, including the dealer sticker. Finish master has the engine cover (they are not painting it, just matching the paint- which is trial & error; maybe the wheels will get painted to match body) and I will take some shots when it's all back together.

A gorgeous scoot. I'm restoring my GL at the moment and would love to see more pics as, being so original, they're a great reference for how mine should be.

Sweet bike. Two pieces of advice:
Like others have said, don't go anywhere near it with touch-up paint. You'll just erode its value with every stroke of the brush. (Same goes for having replaced the rims, seat, etc.) Just take a deep breath and swallow any urge to do anything to it. Since you say the tank has been replaced (why???), you could use the paint you had made to match it up to the rest of the bike.

Take off the legshield mirror before somebody bumps it and wrecks the legshield. I've never seen a bike sporting one that hadn't been damaged by it.

What makes you think the petcock isn't working?

Or have it fall off during a ride, shatter spreading broken glass for everyone following you...

Ok, here are those pics, complete without touch up paint, although I now have a pint of perfectly matched paint. Someone sent me a pm about rust... there isn't any at all.
Also have the orig toolkit, keys, and owner's manual.

Wow, that is the Schleicher Motors address in Oakland. The fact that this was a Schleicher bike makes this even cooler to me (I bought my first bike, a used P200, there).

Well, It I dunno about playmate of the year, because Rover Erics did look sweet. But, it will give any scoot a run for the money. How come I don't have cool parents that keep old scoots?

heres a link to an article on a gl owned by a former missionary priest in papua, indonesia. now taken care of by a nephew. hence the title of the article, "my oom's (oom=dutch for uncle) first vespa". at bottom theres a list of differences between the italian version of the lusso and the edition that made it to indonesia. got no time to translate the whole article at the mo, try google translate but if theres a few sentences youd like me to translate just tell me id be happy to. too few and small photos of the real thing mind you (combined with some googled photos).
