Well done guys.

Thanks for a most excellent event. We were graced by perfect NorCal weather, zero drama, no helicopter rides , and the most fun bunch of folks you can imagine.

Oh, and watching the raccoons at the campsite doing burnouts @ 4am was awesome.

cheers!

VCLG and Co. You all did an amazing job! The ride down from Portland was so worth it. Highlights for Karen and I included the (damn fast) ride over Mt. Hamilton, the really cool dinner at Saratoga Springs, and ride to Santa Cruz (our home town after all). Met and made lots of friends (including Jess). I can't believe you did this all yourselves and for such a reasonable admission price. Killer deal.

Hats off to you all. Wow.

Thanks everybody! I'm so glad that you all came and that you had such a great time! It was a lot of work, but I had a blast too and I'm thrilled that it turned out so well. However, I want to say that the lions share of thanks are deserved by our fearless and indefatigable leader, Mike "El Jefe" Bobadilla, for all of the time and effort he put into making this rally happen... he truly was the glue that held it all together. Many thanks to everyone who turned out for Amerivespa too, you're the ones who made it such a fun time! Congratulations to the winners at the day show, so many phenomenal bikes were on display and I was truly in awe. Safe travels to everyone on their way home both far and near, I hope I'll see you again soon!

Yep. A big thanks from me too.

Here's photos from the weekend. I dumped them all on flickr and haven't done much in the way of editing. I figure people like to see themselves and their bikes, even if they aren't the best snaps in the world...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mutantis/sets/72157621017493196/

Plus, apparently there was a smudge on my lens all weekend. Glad it wasn't in the center.

This was an absolutely stellar event! I know how much work went into this, and want to thank not only the entire advance team but also everybody who took on the often forgotten jobs of staffing the check in tables, handing out cups, selling the raffle tickets, setting up the picnic tables at Depot Park, etc.

Well done! Clap emoticon

Hopefully the team for Amerivespa 2010 came to take notes for next year. This one will be nearly impossible to beat!

Thank you!!

Mike and your buds in the Vespa Club of Los Gatos, thanks for putting on a great rally. And thanks for encouraging us to ride down from Seattle, that was the ride of a lifetime. Thanks Bradford for helping us with the logistics of getting the extra bike back to Seattle, guess we should have left room in the truck but who'd a thunk it.
Scooter Insanity will return to it's regular 4th of July weekend next year, and I invite you all to come up to Seattle, and highly encourage riding up the coast to get here, you definitely won't regret it.

Great story behind my win... after Laura won the Sym (congrats Laura!!!) I paid Jim (SFMC!) for the camp site and he gave me $10 and said he was passing on Laura's Luck and to buy raffle tickets with it (I was done buying tickets). On Saturday, I went to buy $10 worth of lucky tickets. I then found out if you buy $20 worth you get 27 tickets. I didn't know this when I bought my tickets before so I decided to go for it and my winning ticket was the 13th one!!! Thanks Jim and Laura, you rock!!

Kudos to the whole VCOA and VCLG family (and their families) for all the planning and well-run execution. Mike's leadership was invaluable. The man has a talent for herding cats. It was obvious that all the details were thought through. This was my first Amerivespa and what an amazing experience. Thanks for booking Monkey. Thanks to all the ride leaders and sweeps. Thanks to the set-up and clean-up crews who made it happen.

+100000000000000000 and 1!!!!

When Linda woke up this a.m., first thing she said was, where we going to ride to today? Is it really over? My first Amerivespa - but I'm sure, the best one ever!

Jesse (Thatbloodystig) and Rich (glasseye) deserve kudos too. Those guys were everywhere! I am lucky enough to ride regularly with the VCLG, so I know everyone is top-notch, but you guys really shined this week-end. It was unbelievable.

All of the rides were great (that Hamilton one was effin fast! And excellent!) But to finish it off with Highway 9 to Santa Cruz was the topper.

Thanks, Thanks and Thanks!

Riding locally I've been on many of these routes, even a few locations with VSLG on their monthly, nothing could prepare me for what it was like to do so with 200+ scooterists. Just seeing how Saritoga Springs transformed for the event left my mouth agape. Well organized rides made them both safe and fun. It was great meeting everyone, I hope this means seeing more turnout for the montly rides.

Really...the hard work that VCLG and the VCOA folks put into this rally really showed. From the organization of the rides, to how efficiently meals were served (despite large crowds) the selection of the venues, the check in procedures, it all went so smoothly. I've had the opportunity to help organize events before, and things don't go off without a hitch all by themselves, they take planning and hard work.

Thank you!

Thinking I speak for my clubbies it was such a privilege to host Amerivespa 2009.

The big pieces were left to the major players from the VCOA but all the little stuff we really tried to think out and make like we wanted to see in a rally.

So many things fell in place for us....long rides with NO break downs(for the most part) and really skilled riders who took what we thru at them and kept the shiny bits up. With all the miles traveled by all the bikes only one ended up on the truck at the end of the day....WIN!!!!!

On personal note I would like to thank Mike Bobadilla and Lauren Bobadilla for the tireless work they put into this event...they were and are awesome....great people....so very happy to have them leading our team, they are a blessing. Josh Rogers of Scoot magazine worked his magic for us too...thanx Josh.

I got to spend time with people who are on the cutting edge of our community. From Ralf & Morris of SIP to Hot Rod AL to Tony of 226 I was grateful to share ideas and experiences with the revolutionaries of the community. What a rush. I learned alot, awesome!

As I sit here the most striking I will take from all of this is the realization that people came from great distances to party with us, celebrate with us our little scooter hobby, lifestyle, passion.

That rocks...it just does.

Great people....great times....If you ask for more you ask too much.

See you in San Antonio.

*smile

VCLG's rally Classic Moto Italia happens during May. Mark it down! Coming off the success of Amerivespa, its gonna be a good one. There is also the monthly sunday rides- rain or shine! ('cept when there is a rally)

+ 1 on what the glasseye said. Unsung praises for the Bobadillas and Josh Rogers and everyone else who worked very hard to pull this off.

Hey SIC:

I did extend an invite to most of the RBSC that I met that they should plan a monthly ride or two down to SJ. It's close enough to do a day trip or extend it out and make it into a weekender.

For all the people who showed up this year, it was so much fun thanks to all the scooterist that showed up. Would have never happened without the awesome people and the love for scootering.
