Modern Vespa

week III Primer & Bondo
after striping and bodywork with differ from usually
yeah... usually people here striping with media blasting or chemical. but I used the easiest way to remove paint and bondo with thermal heat to have the bike stripped to bare metal. I guess this is a cheapest solution
and now I continue with primer, before that I clean it with wet sanding. and primer with nippe200 from Nippon Paint based on epoxy. after primer need a litle bondo over the welded and for a good shape




ps: it're slow going project because I only have weekend time
and still not yet can determine its colour...

I'm reluctant to deal with bureaucracy here... as you known ...I don't want to spend my money for corrupt bureaucrat
so I've to chosen color coming near its paper like Grey metalic or Silver
and I already have blue sprint

yes i can see u have blue sprint, it make me think how many sprints u have there.. make me jealousy as i didnt have as much as u and u already rebuild ur while i am not even started (money issue) but i wish u the best in ur project of rebuilding and restore the handsome and pretty sprints

btw my older bro used to have orange sprint veloce too and its look so catchy and sweet

nope! I welded the holes with new plate and covered with bondo over the welded

the kunyit look like my koenig mellow previous paint hehe i put red basic coat before i put the kunyit in my 64 vbb and walla its a weird paint i have

Not as well as I would have liked to.

I was based in Kuala Lumpur for a coupla years and made frequent trips over the straits to Djakarta then. Have also been to Bandung, Surabaya and Denpasar in Bali. I don't remember much but I sure miss the food! Daging rendang! Pepes ikan! Otak otak! Terasi sambal!

Was years ago, I didn't get to see or do much, work got in the way. I wish I spent more time there, especially Bali. Uluwatu I missed, sorely. I was told it's amazing. Then again, the whole of Bali is amazing.

paddled in - got on a bboat for two hrs - then a scooter ride to airport - then a plane to kuwalalampur to doctors holding his eyeball in palm to socket the whole way.

lost his eye but still surfs the mentawais 8) 8)

week IV Painting
after considering finally I set my mind on to wear moonlight metalized. before it I painted base color, I found a can of rest color from previous painting so I used it
now I know and must agree with Jimmy it is true more difficult paint metalic than solid color.
I ought to have painted yesterday but I'm not yet satisfied with surface which still looked to be, possibly with solid color that don't seen. so I must covered with bondo (again!) aaarrrgghhh!

thats a nice work u do there nino , are u sure u gonna use metalic colour? just curious to ask as i also have metalic in my blue blues and the paint now is breaking in 1000 after 9 years thats why i wanna repaint it.. but i think u will do better then me

I suggest no metalic... unless you're pro
I noticed more difficult metalic than solid... in metalic you can see a little bit surging surface where in solid you might not see it

My wife's cousin is Bobby Martinez (pro surfer) and he's been to the Mentawais a bunch of times...he told me he rode around a PK50 there..classic! One of these days I'm going..just need over 2k for a 2 week surf trip!
