Hi Guys

Firstly, I wuld like to introduce myself. Im Tom and I have recently purchased a Vespa ET4 to commute to and from work in London.

Seccondly, I would like to appologice in advance for this post as it is most probably in the wrong forum, but I wanted to introduce myself whilst also asking for some advice.

As I have said, I recently bought a secoond hand ET4. When I bought it, both indicator bulbs on the dash worked just fine. However, this morning, the left turn indicator bulb on my dash stopped working. The main indicators themselves however, work fine.

Now I am hoping that this situation can be resolved by simply changing the bulb. I am not sure how to do this, but Im sure it wont be too much hassel.

I am a buildings manager by trade and am therefore pretty decent with mechanical problems.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

Tom

I'm betting the lamp isn't blown but the connector to it is dirty, corroded or come away. Either way, you'll have the dubious pleasure of getting inside the headstock - others will know better than me how to do that with minimum aggro.

OK, it shouldn't be too hard - I have taken the headstock panels off, just not messed about with the dash.

1. Remove the mirrors

2. Remove the front handlebar cover - two screws at the back, below the ignition and horn buttons, and one under the headlight. It's held in by tabs that pop out (carefully!)

3. Remove the rear handlebar cover - there are three screws behind it which should be visible now the front cover is off, one at the bottom and two at the sides

Bingo - access!

The tip about a halogen headlight bulb is a good 'un as the ET4 headlight is really weedy. I got mine from M&P, here.
