need help with p200 headset light

just bought a 1979 p200 everything is great but the (little orange indicator above the speedo)light flashes all the time when running. when i select the signal left or right it works brighter and flashes like it should but i can't get it to stop blinking the rest of the ride.
Has anyone had a similar issue? is so how can i fix it?

seriously,turn signal switch is neutral(in the middle)and the festoon light flashes????????????

then it is not a ground like i was thinking.

maybe a new relay,couple bucks and easeir to replace then pulling the frikin headset,i can't stand that job for some reason.
