I was fortunate enough to see the True Believers a couple of times back in the day. Once in Austin and once at the dreaded Axiom in Houston. Great shows both. I have solo stuff from both John D and Alejandro. I haven't caught John yet, but we made a road trip to Gruene Hall to see Alejandro a couple years ago. Sweaty as hell, but he kicked some ass. All that sweat reminded me of the Axiom show.

i kinda met him once. he was getting interviewed at the Dark Room in deep ellum in Dallas. he was pretty quiet when not being interviewed. big guy. and yea, dark lord of rock and roll! 8)
