Ok, I hit the gong at about 2:20. If there were a doctorate in everything wrong with music, the entire thesis could be written from this video.

I am scarred for life. And I can think of several people I want to inflict share this with.

I'm glad I went back for the drum solo / tap dance duel. That dude had that collar flapping like there was no tomorrow. If they had only thrown in some dancing poodles and funnel cakes it would have been a day at the fair.

Heh heh, I saw them in the late 70s in Santa Barbara at the Granada theater because they were rained out at the bowl. I had four joints behind my ears, and they checked my boots going in! Ha.

The music was crankin, the weed was flowing and the joints were passed down the line, and I look over at the end, and the security guard takes a hit and passes it back down. The theater was one huge cloud of smoke.

Ahh, the memories a song will bring back, eh?

I saw SRV open for The Who in Dallas in 1989. It was the only time I ever got to see him live, and of course a year later he was dead.

My mom was friends with a guy who was in the same graduating class as SRV at South Oak Cliff High School. They had their class elections, the "most likely to...," "best dressed" type stuff. The election for guitarists that year was for "second best guitarist."
