I can't tell you how many times I've seen Ben Folds other than, "a lot."

Rockin' the Suburbs is a great song, but the radio version really loses something.

A few fun facts about him. He went to school on a music scholarship--for drums. He got in a fight the night before his final recital, broke his hand, and was unable to play. They failed him for it, so he threw his drum kit in a lake and quit school.

He also got a lifetime ban from Ravinia, the outdoor concert venue up on the North Shore (ritzy suburbs) of Chicago for excess profanity during one of his shows. How could you NOT love that guy?

Meanwhile, I've had Joyce Manor and Tigers Jaw stuck in my head. Good stuff, at least.

Trying to find the 50's version of solitude by Ella Fitzgerald I came across this ethereal re-imagining of the track... Not better than the OG, but so creepy beautiful in it's own right. Just lovely.

I've had Los Angeles is Burning stuck in my head all week.

BN, for some reason, that track makes me think of the version of Edelweiss that was the theme song for Man in the High Castle.

I've had this one from Bowling For Soup stuck in my head on and off for the past few days. Painfully relevant for many of us.

Stumbled onto this a few weeks ago...

and then heard this in a chat room for a class I am taking while waiting for class to start. Not only did I recognize the song and call out song and artist in the chat room but then got grief for liking noise...what can I say eclectic musical taste.

Those are both classics!

I'm not much for jazz, but there are a handful of tunes I like and Take Five is one of them.
