This was a quality recommendation. I wasn't familiar with them, but put them on in the office today and was very impressed. The 1993 album on Spotify is weird, but in a good shoegazey way.

When this song came out in 1983 I was in 7th grade. It was on heavy rotation and my wood shop teacher always had the radio on. I was just coming into my own from a music perspective, developing my own tastes that weren't tied to my older brother. I still love this song. It popped up in random play this morning from my USB drive in my car.

Doing some simple math, someone who is the same age as I was then listening to this song now from 1983 would be the equivalent of 1983 me listening to WWII era music.

That is mind boggling.

Oof. This song gets harder to listen to every year. My daughter is 27 and a bit of a train wreck.

My dear friend who sang and played guitar in this band died the other night. Was on tour doing sound for a band and during load out told them he didn't feel good and went to lay down. 15 mins later they checked on him and he was already gone… but not forgotten.

He was the most sarcastic dick in the world. And also the nicest dude ever. If he could read this he'd say "fuck you Mike, but seriously that was sweet and it is sad I'm dead, but fuck you"

I'll never have him tell me to turn the suck down mid song in front of a crowd of 700 people, and that bums me out. Joke was on him though cause the suck knob was already at zero…. Sorry about your ears Steve. RIP.

This was really, really good on many levels.

So, for the last year and a few months I've been driving my son to work on his workdays and picking him up afterward. One of the things we do in the car is sing together. He picks a song from my library and we belt out our own version of it.

This is his latest favorite request. He will never understand - despite being a hair band - how talented they were. Mike Tramp is a great vocalist and still puts out music, albeit a little country for my taste. And Vito Bratta is an amazing guitarist who essentially turned his back on the music industry. Those subtle nuances are lost on C. All he knows is he likes the song. Good choice, kid.

Interestingly, I was talking to my 22yo daughter today and she said that her friends all love my scooters, but they find the idea of one overwhelming.
