Iron Maiden, Piece of Mind album. First time I heard it I was in 4th grade and my buddy popped the cassette into his boom box. Either 1981 or 82. Seems like yesterday.

My fingers aren't so computer literate or else I would have linked "Down Under" or "Who Can It Be Now". Wonder if SteelBytes likes those guys being in the same neighborhood and all.π€ Overkill came out in March of '83. I just looked it up. By then I was 14 and in 8th grade. I couldn't have heard it on the radio in my 7th grade wood shop class. Dude, I kid you not, I broke out the graph paper and a pencil and plotted months and years from my birth to graduation. I charted backward from graduation in May of 1987 to the day I started kindergarten in September of 1974. In March of 1983 I was just about to turn 14 and in the last half of 8th grade. The ONLY thing I can figure is I'm mistaken about which year I had that particular wood shop class, even though I remember Rob Banhagel being in that same class, but he couldn't have been because he was a year ahead of me and that would have made him a freshman at the high school by then. The other explanation is those memories have all been implanted by a secret government agency and someone forgot to carry the 1. And that leaves me plugged into machines that are keeping my body alive and none of this is real and now I have to go to my parents and dig out my school transcripts so I can know for sure. But if they read this and get to them first they can easily change them to match whatever information they want me to believe is real. It really has been one of those days.
