Something to get me going at work this morning. Unfortunately high speed dirt is a reality in aviation somtimes especially with the aerobatic types.

Such a great song. And in case you were wondering, Tom did indeed, fuck it up…

Good friends of mine must have played shows with them close to 50 times over the years.

Lucky.

I found out too late that they played a show in San Antonio March 23 while they were here for SXSW. I would have traveled down the highway to see that one for sure.

I actually used to have a copy of "Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy" back when buying CD's was the normal way to get music.

Such a great song. It's been in my workshop playlist for years.

I still have it. Amongst 300 odd others.

I just saw at a second hand store the other day a 100 disc CD changer. Man ... back in the day you would have had to have been a huge audiophile to have 100 CDs, let alone a player that would hold that many.

Quick question. First CDs ... what and when?

I started in 1987. My first three CDs were Mannheim Steamroller's "Fresh Aire IV", The Replacements' "Tim" and Vasngelis "Opera Sauvage" Still have all three.

In retrospect, that's kind of a weird combo.

My first CD's were, as best I can recall, Spike by Elvis Costello and Power Windows by Rush.

Vangelis' "Themes" came soon after. Great weird mood music.

Spike is a great album. "Deep Dark Truthful Mirror" and "Satellite" follow my music collection around all the time.

I think Power Windows was my first vinyl Rush album.

I think Veronica is my all-time favorite Elvis Costello song. So bright and pop-py on the surface, but super dark if you actually listen to it.

Tramp the Dirt Down is another great track off that album.

I was an early adopter of the gospel of Elvis as evidenced by my 7th grade picture below. This is just before my first Vespa ride that occurred going to a halfpipe that summer. I was pillion in charge of skateboards and the boom box. As I recall the boom box was playing Hanx by the Stiff Little Fingers. Over and over until the batteries died. Good times.

Well that $11.38 was way less expensive than flying to the Netherlands and flipping though crates at record stores.. (but way less fun).

Thank you.
