Love my black mp3 400 but was considering trading for a newer model year in the coming months.
Turns out I'll be having surgery in another week
and it's going to shoot about 6 weeks out of my summer riding time.

Having a hard time deciding because I do love the bike and it only has a little over 2200 miles on it now.

What would you do?

Keep the bike you know?

Sell the bike and get a newer model year?

Sell the 400 get a 500 with top case?
Decisions...Decisions.....just venting abit trying to make up my mind.

If you have to ask, you already know the answer. Get a 500, get a J Costa installed, enjoy.

Yeah I with jimc on this. Sell it and give yourself something to really look forward to with the 500.

Good luck with surgery.

Your 400 is just now getting broke-in. Why take the financial hit of trading in? Of course, everyone is just going to advise you to buy what they already have. It basically comes down to your likes in styling and/or storage issues w/o the topcase and if you have a few thousand dallars to throw away.

I'll actually post and sell versus a trade.

I'll be missing a couple months of riding time and now it's either sell
or get hit by another year of depreciation. Sitting on cash might be better than having my scoot sitting in the basement. If I purchase another before the end of the year I can get the sales tax back.

Batting the idea around this evening but need to decide quickly....since surgery is next week ...yeeks!

Someone else can answer better than me, but there are weights on your transmission and the JCosta gives you more accelleration when you start, eliminating some of the lag time. I'm REALLY not mechanical, but do a search and there are lots of threads on it. I'm probably going to have one put on at the 6000 mile service because it is so highly recommended. None of this looks spelled correctly, sorry!

I would sell it and get a 250...what do you need all that power for? Razz emoticon

Seriously though, you already know your 400 and it is just getting broken in. If it is running great I would keep it, and save for a couple years then get something...you never know...by then there may be an 850cc available.

FWIW, I'd keep the ride until I recovered and had at it again. You can always sell and upgrade or change out later as you see fit. But in the meantime you've got riding to look forward to and a ride ready as soon as you are!
