just curious... why not create a blog? there are some great free sites online that let you keep a journal online, and most offer some pretty cool features that might be hard to do on a forum post. my favorite is tumblr (tumblr.com), but there's also wordpress, typepad, blogger, and several others. They just give you nice features like creating small photo galleries, post or link to video, an archive that your visitors can browse, search capabilities, guestbooks, links, etc.
just wanted to let you know that there are lots of other options out there that are very easy to use... but ultimately use what's best for you!

I would second the thought of a blog. A blog is just putting your journal online. Use Blogger for an easy setup.

I have to add - please don't log every daily commute though - if we all did that this place would get clogged PDQ.
