I noticed a new banner ad for Patrick "Oopsclunkthud"s new dogleg levers for the GTS/GTV. Looking further I found a thread in the Sponsor Classified section, a section I seldom visit - it doesn't change much.

A few years ago Glasseye made up a set for himself and posted pictures here. There was a brief flurry of interest - I guess some people find the reach of the stock levers a bit of a stretch.

Nice that similar ones are finally available for sale. If the number of people who ask about lowering their seat height is any indication, Patrick should sell lots of these. I wish him luck.

i saw the banner for those and went 'mmmmm'..... my issue is not with reach, it's with hand strength (i have long scrawny spidery feeble fingers) and i like the idea of a lever that allows me to exert force at a point where i actually have some strength in my hands.

I've become so accustomed to using the regular brake levers now, I don't really need them, but they'd probably be nice to have.

Perhaps a Canadian dealer could be persuaded to stock them, especially if a good customer, say someone expecting a new 300 who wanted some customizing done to it predelivery, asked very nicely. Laughing emoticon

Saw these at AV 09. Fit and finish were excellent and they functioned as promised. Patrick said he may make them in black, so I'll wait for that. Good product.

Look good. Are they shorter than stock levers?

If they made them in some garish neon colours, and coated them with plastic (to stop my little handies getting cold in the winter), then I'd buy some just for the fun of it.

These are my levers...with polish & style added only Patrick can generate. We produced them ourselves with the gracious assistance of a clubmate, Bob Lacy who is a retired machinist.(and a really great guy)

If your hands are smaller or you prefer to cover your brake levers, these are awesome. But I am biased....

Levers for the LX/ET4 are on the drawing board....

Too bad they won't work on the GT. I would like that. I have a bit of a stretch reaching the stock ones.

Are there any pictures of them installed on the scooter?

I rode the whole Amerivespa rally with a set of these on my Cannonball bike, and I really love them. I might be biased as well, though -- I helped Patrick sandblast and QC the whole first batch of levers the day before Amerivespa.

HTF did I miss these?! I was at the pic-a-nic from 11am until after the displays were taken down and (thought I) saw all of the displays. I would have hit that fo sho. In fact just that morning, I tried the ones on Rich's Green Machine and liked the levers a lot.

When these get ready for online/local orders, I'm in.

These look cool and when they come out for the LX, I might buy them. What I really need is an extended horn button. My little hands can grip the break levers just fine if I use all 4 fingers but I can't break and hit the horn at the same time because my thumb is too short.

Patrick was sharing booth space with ScooterSkirt Ruben. My bike was parked there as a demonstration model.

They do, they do. Exactly the same master cylinders.

But no worky on the LX or ET, since the rear brake is cable-actuated.

Not sure you will ever see them shipped in chrome. Chrome tends to weaken aluminum a good deal. They can be polished to be almost as shiny though.

I've added ordering info to the thread over in Sponsor Classifieds.

See this thread for order information.

Installation is pretty easy. The hardest part is disassembling the headset. After that, it's just a couple screws and nuts.

Available now! $50.00 plus shipping ($5-14 depending on location)! They are a direct replacement for the stock levers. The front of the headset has to come off on the GT/GTS to install them.

We have limited quantities while we are ramping up production so if you want them drop an email to:

info@oopsclunkthud.com

We'll use the email as the queue and deliver them in the order that we received the email.

The LX/ET4 rear brake lever is in the works....but not ready yet, but almost.

The levers do look really good with the black powder.

Hey, are these full-grip levers? Or are they shorties, like dirt-bike levers? I'm rather fond of two or three-fingering my brakes, and love swapping in shorties so that I can have at least one or two digits wrapped around the throttle. Either shorties or levers that dog-leg in mid-grip (not that I've ever seen those in my life) are my preferred levers.

So...are these shorties?
