Sterling engines are very interesting beasts as they do a fine job of turning waste heat into energy.

But they are relatively heavy for the power generated, although some mobile applications have been made.

This seems like a workable compromise, a battery to hold the power generated while sitting idle.

If Dean Kamen invents it and designs it, it can probably be made to work... but making it practical and affordable is another matter altogether.

I would have been more skeptical had this been in the April 1 issue of Motorcycle Daily.
