Does anyone have any idea where I can purchase a right (front) brake handle/lever for a 2001 ET4?

I decided I'm going to try to fix the scooter myself, and can repair most of the stuff on it, but have no clue where to find this part.

Thanks!

I found one at Motorsport Scooters, but it is close to $50, while the left side/rear lever is only about $10. Does anyone know why the difference in price is so much?

Why not call them and ask? It may be because the left one pulls a cable and the right one operates a hydraulic system.

They are about $14 for the left and $15 for the right here:
http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=1507

Can't explain the big price difference for the right lever, but I've bought one here, and it is indeed OEM. They are shown as for the LX and S models, but it's the same lever as the ET.

Thanks a ton, Silver Streak. That'll get me back on two wheels quicker than 50 bucks for a lever.

Hold the phone! I just pulled out my spare right side lever for my LX, and it is different from the one pictured on the Scooterwest site for the ET. Part number is different, too.

I find it hard to believe that the levers are different between the ET and LX series, as most of the other mechanicals are the same, but who knows... sorry to get your hopes up.

I tried to find the ET levers on the Athens Scooter online parts microfiche, but they don't show them. Couldn't find an ET parts manual online either.

OK... this gets weirder and weirder... I just found your ET lever in black at the Scooterworks site: http://www.scooterworks.com/Lever_Right_Hand_-_ET2-4_-_Bl_P6533C441.cfm for only $9.95!

The weird thing is that its shape is exactly like the right hand lever for my LX that I bought from AF1 and nothing like the lever on the Scooter West site. You could buy both the levers from Scooterworks for less than $20 if the black is right... if you can confirm that it is correct.

The LX and ET levers definitely have different shapes. The right ET lever has always been more expensive because Piaggio has to buy it from grimeca and re-sell it instead of just manufacturing the lever themselves like the left one that's cable operated.

The one pictured in the scooterworks photo is shaped like the LX lever. I'm not sure if they have functional differences between the two. Piaggio did give them different part numbers, which would indicate different parts.

We ordered a batch of aftermarket levers for the ET at one point, trying to offer them for less money, but they never worked correctly, and we quickly discontinued them. That mnay have only been our batch.

I'm just telling you everything I know about it.

I'm a tenacious SOB when it comes to solving mysteries.

If you look at this page from the Scooter West site, it will be obvious that they just flipped the photo for the LH lever to use for the RH lever:
https://www.scooterwest.com/item/page/17/Tjs-EQ-/NA/

The left and right hand levers can't be the same shape, as one pulls a cable and the other pushes a piston!

That explains the difference in appearance between my LX lever and the one on the Scooter West site, but not the part number difference. I'd bet dollars to donuts that the LX lever would work, but I can't confirm that.

If you can live with black, the levers from Scooterworks are certainly the cheapest route.

Looks like Max jumped in while I was writing my last post.

Based on all this info, the black levers on the Scooterworks site are probably aftermarket.

Thanks for all the help. I'm gonna go with the black, as the aesthetics of my scoot have been f***ed anyway, so I'm not really worried about all that.
