hi guys,

my seat got slashed on 3 separate occasions over the course of a week early last month. i'd duct tape one gash, wake up in the morning and there would be a fresh one waiting for me.

in any case, torn up seat with tape all over it looks awful - not to mention it makes my pants sticky on the way to work. any tips on finding fitted, removable seat covers?

the lady that used to make them at scooter seat covers is no longer selling - and those things looked perfect. my dealer offered to send the seat away for a few days to get it reapulstered but i'm afraid its gonna get slashed again. anyone know any places where I can pick one up in/around NYC?

dude I would be more concerned with finding out who is slashing my seat. I assume it isn't someone you know, but then again I could be wrong. Other than that, I would say ebay. Sorry dude!

I would go down to a fabric store get some fabric and cover the seat so it looks like it was redone, then sit out and find out who is cutting it. Have a base ball bat with you in case it is someone you want to confront. I would catch the bastard somehow. Small wire under the seat cover connected to a big capacitor might give the bastards a little jolt if they try it again.
Connect one end to the wire under seat cover and the other end drive a nail in the ground and connect one end to that, let them complete the circuit.

A slashed seat is a weak move on the part of a vandal, for sure. Reminds me of the line in Pulp Fiction when Vince Vega's car gets keyed after being in storage for years...

Whelp, [redacted].com has seat covers for LX's that can be installed permanently or temporarily, and they're only $33.

Here's the link:

Good luck!

Waiting with a baseball bat to catch a guy with a knife is a little like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Forget the baseball bat

Get 'em doing it on camera and turn the footage over to the police
They carry guns for a reason

Linda has the right idea ... you need to get the vandal(s) on camera. Then take your evidence to the police and let them deal with it. Assuming you always park in the same spot, it may be someone who has a bone to pick with you or (more likely) some idiot kid who thinks slicing seats is fun. Either way, you need to put a stop to it without breaking the law yourself!

Is there any way you can get someone nearby to point a surveillance camera on it for you for a night or two?

seat covers
I think the [redacted] is the best bet they also have a leather replacement
cover (brown or black). rIGHT NOW i'M THINKING OF USING a gun holster to carry a telescoping cane on an lx150 if I can figure how to attach it.
It's 21" deep, hope I'm not losin' it.

Speed-Parts in Holland has a Burberry-style seat cover.

I've seen lots of seats in that fashion in Vietnam along with similarly styled polo helmets.

I am guessing its parked out on the pavment overnight, you hav'nt inadvertently blocked a walkway or driveway and have upset someone?(still does'nt give an excuse to slash your seat)but as someone else has already stated i'll find out who/why is the culprit.Trouble being once the seat is repaired, the phantom seat slasher could return.

Any way to set up a cam?

After you get your seat rideable perhaps slip the taped up repaired seat back on top - perhaps add a layer of thin pad found at fabric store inside it - so the slasher cuts up the old seat. It can be removed for riding. Hassle? Yes.
I hope this headache stops for you soon.
