Modern Vespa

I've got some customers from Italy coming in towards the end of the month. After they visit S.F. they plan on going to San Diego and then New York. I've been looking for places that rent the same things I do (or any scooter?) but am having no luck finding one for them...

Does anyone know of a place in either of those areas that does what I do? At this point I think any scooter would do...

pretty sure we do not have scooter rental here. We have those lame-o 3 wheeled scooter cars for the tourists, tho.

I spoke to someone at Oceanside and they are working on it. Maybe in a month which won't help them out.

We don't know of any rental shops here. Oceanside used to, but my understanding is not currently. We're always good for a nickel tour of the shop, though. We've amassed some cool stuff over the last 20 years.

Ask for the Tequila tasting tour package. It makes the shop WAY more interesting. -wink-

Check out topdogrentals.com. I've seen them in Gaslamp (San Diego) and they rent some cheap scooters. Definitely not Vespas or Piaggio but they may scratch the itch.

There was scooter rental place right across from the Star of India. It is adjacent to the Ruth Chris Steakhouse.

They rented 50cc Chinese scooters.

Do remember that a valid M1 motorcycle endorsement is required here in California to drive a 50cc. You might check to see if it's a requirement for the rental.

It is required for all people with a U.S. license. People with out of the country licenses don't always have easy to understand paperwork/licenses with them.

I turn away about 90% of Americans that call to rent from me... because they don't have a class M.

How about New York? I'm in the city for the next month and I miss my scoots! Of course, New York City driving looks ....how shall I say.....adventuresome.
