I've got the same helmet and recently used it on a lengthy trip in Florida. It was amazingly cool (temperature-wise).

Yes, I tried out the vents this morning, didn't really need them open but thought I'd give them a go. They work really well, top two and rear exhaust vents open and you can feel the cool air sweeping over the top of your head. Opened the forehead vent and it was like having a small fan switch on 8)

Really impressed so far

Have you seen those helmets with a rear view built in them. I dont know the name but they are made in Italy. They arent DOT approved but they are approved under stronger tolorances by the Euro DOT.

Having owned the helmet a bit now, thought I'd give a bit of an update.

I can only really compare it against my Caberg Trip, so it not really a fair to compare a flip front to a full face for noise levels, but it is quieter.

I tried out the vents. They work really well, top two and rear exhaust vents open and you can feel the cool air sweeping over the top of your head. Opened the forehead vent and it was like having a small fan switched on, you could feel a curtain of cool air down your face. The visor is very good, no fogging even in the rain and the peripheral vision is better than the Caberg (though I wouldn't say the Caberg was bad in that respect).

Now I don't want this to sound like I'm a turncoat because I've always praised and recommended the Caberg Trip to those that want a flip front. But having got my hands on the Scorpion you can feel the difference in build quality. The visor is much thicker, feels more sturdy and closes with a definite action (granted the Caberg visor was feeling a little worn on the mechanism).

The only negatives I can think of are:

The internal sun visor could do with coming down a bit further for my liking, other than that, very good.
The chin strap (Double D fastener) could do with being a bit longer; I have to unthread it to make removal easier. Another inch would prevent having to do this.

Overall I'm very happy with it, and getting used to the fastener quicker than I thought I would.

Did you try the built in air pump to inflate the cheek pads?

Yes I did (forgot about that for the mo ) You really can feel the difference with it pumped up. Not really used it on my short (6 mile) commute. they guy in the shop said it's more for the long distance high speed riding as pumping it up helps reduce wind noise.
