if they can tell me, show me how to put this kick start assembly back together correctly! when i took the cover off, the gear had broken away from the shaft, now i have new shaft/gear assembly, but can't figure out how to put it all back together. it is on a 2004 ET2 50. any help would really be appreciated. oh, and i was just kidding about the 1000 bucks! LOL, rick

Do you have the special tool for the spring? It's a bitch, even with the tool. Trying to reassemble without the tool is enough to drive most people to the brink.

Is this the same grief you would experience with those LX150's that have a kickstart?

The same grief one would experience nearly everywhere a spring is used on the bike..

got the pics from Max....(thank you very much) so now i now where everything goes, but not sure how to "pre-load" this spring. what is this about a special tool????? rick

i did the same thing and it took three of us to get the spring pre-loaded again
