If you didn't/couldn't/wouldn't make it to Amerivespa 2009 in Los Gatos, CA you missed out on a great rally with awesome scooter enthusiasts from around the world and some really great vendors.

It was a pleasure to meet the minds and owners behind http://genuinecoolass.com/ Brian and Jan are as awesome in person as they are behind the scenes of their company making these great covers to keep our asses covered!!

And now by popular demand, custom printed for Piaggio manufactured scoots... a NO PETS logo'd CoolAss cover... AND it's a great but limited offer of 2 CoolAss covers for price of 1! (til August 31, 2009)

They haven't completed the printing of the NO Pets logo'd covers but if you order now, they'll charge you $29.95 plus S&H. They will send you an original CoolAss cover right away AND than approximately in mid-August when they get their completed shipment of NO PETS logo'd CoolAss covers, they'll send the NO PETS CoolAss at no additional charge and YOU GET to keep the original CoolAss.

And something that is totally understated by them but proven to be backed...total satisfaction guarantee. If you don't like the product send it back they'll give you your money back. If it fails, send it back they'll replace it...something I didn't know but they told me all about at Amerivespa. I told them my DS and DSXL had torn (a few inches) where the elastic is sewn in along with a recently discovered hole in my DSXL (which I was going to duct tape) but they told me to bring them back. So next day with them sadly stuffed into my backpack and than presented to Jan and Brian I walked away with two brand new CoolAsses in hand in their handy little black storage bags.

They offer a great product backed with awesome customer service and a guarantee they follow through on.

Those are cool and all, but I want a HOT ASS seat cover to cover my scooter seat in the winter so when I hop on my ass feels nice and hot rather than freezing cold. Razz emoticon

Sounds like you got a GREAT product idea! Let me know when you get it patented and I'll buy one.

But, hey at least for now the CoolAss cover is waterproof to give you DryAss in the winter even if it may not make it a HotAss. Laughing emoticon

I already have a cool ass seat cover that I use on my BV500. It makes a huge difference. Especially in Texas. One thing I learned is to take it off last because just having the bike outside while I put on my helmet, gloves, sunglasses will cause the seat to go up 20 degrees. I am tempted to buy this one because I don't agree with having "Cool Ass" printed on my bike when I park it.

Also mine is too small and barely fits. I think it is more for a GTS saddle.

Indeed -- the Texas sun is strong -- as is the sun in FL, AZ, NV, NM, and so on and so on. Jan and I learned when we launched the product line in 2006 that it took only a minute or so for an unprotected seat to heat up in direct sun. We both follow the same ritual -- don gloves, glasses, helmet and so on BEFORE removing CoolAss. In fact, I take the cover off and immediately plant myself on the seat - then roll up the cover and put it in it's pouch. Since I ride a chopper (pictured on our web site) there's no storage, so I simply loop the pouch around a front turn signal arm.

Best to all,

Brian

I love mine. Makes a BIG difference in comfort, especially with the 100+ days we've been having.

They have really great, friendly personalized service too.

Good point. I always felt a teeny bit uncomfortable keeping the cover on my scooter in front of my business with the words CoolAss on it. (A good portions of my students are children.)

Not uncomfortable enough not to use it though, I'll admit. They can see my scooter from the school windows but where it's parked, they don't walk right past it. No one has commented yet.

They haven't commented on the CoolAss sticker on my flyscreen either. Razz emoticon

I may have to seriously consider this... I've been using my original seat cover a lot lately because of random afternoon thunderstorms. I could modify it instead to go on my canvas topcase (the cover for that just ripped, not sure how), and use a CoolAss on the seat. I wouldn't mind the logo. My Vespa does indeed have a cool ass. 8) I use the cover often enough that it couldn't hurt to have a spare laying around.

I know that you U.S. folks have sunshine whereas we have a dim light, far away in another galaxy, but it would have to be VERY hot before I took a lovely Vespa and put one of those horrors on it. I mean VERY hot. For instance, if I generally rode my scooter around an iron foundry

I do understand the benefits of not toasting my 'nads, but those seat covers are so horrible that I'd expect to get arrested for cruelty to a scooter, or for a public display of madness.

Prima is making one of these now, available for only $22:
http://www.scooterworks.com/Prima_All_Weather_Seat_Cover_P9743.cfm

I saw one on a scoot at AV and thought maybe the rider was baking potatoes in his pet carrier.

I'd like a cover to protect my leather saddle from occasional rain and water as well as sun exposure, but don't think this is the direction I'll go.

[redacted] is making some leather and vinyl covers for the LX/S and GTS/Super that actually look pretty nice.

Is about 160 degrees on your 'nads hot enough?

I had reservations about the looks myself, but the heat reduction is so drastic I figured my balls were worth it. It was either jiffy pop seat cover or boiled eggs.

Oh, and my jeans no longer have that freshly-peed-in look when I get off the scooter.

Besides everyone is this town thinks vespas are ugly anyway.

That's why I went with this one:
http://coveralls.biz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&products_id=4
It looks like this on my LX150:

It does a good job of keeping bird droppings, rain, and especially Texas 104° heat off my seat.

The "No Pets" one does sound tempting, though.

Will this also work as a rain cover?
I haven't seen one in person, but I am wondering if the cover would also keep my seat dry in the rain?

If it was 71 degrees Centigrade (160F), I would assume I was on another planet. Or in an oven.

But yes, it's probably hot enough to save me a bit of money on alternative forms of contraception.

Yes it will. It's waterproof.

Well the outside temperature was not quite that high, but they did measure the heat coming off the seat at 160 at Amerivespa.

But, sure, if you're not wanting any children in the future it may get the job done.

The Prima one is THE "Cool ass" one.... one and the same.

Although the new "No Pets" one are actually measured to your bike specifically!!
The original "Cool ass" or the Prima one are more "generic".

How do I know??
Well, Mr Cool ass, aka Brian, lives close to our dealership and has been over to take measurements..

Um, forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand why they would put No Pets on the seat cover. Is people placing their pets on other peoples scooter seats a bigger problem then I am aware of? I've been riding since 1984 and not once in 25 years has anyone ever tried to put their cat or dog on my seat.

It is just marketing.
It reffers to the the "No Pets" sticker that you find under the seat.
Brian just thought it would be a cool idea for a logo on the cover.
That is it... Nothing to do about not being able to put your pet on the seat.

Well ALEXBV200, beat me to the answer...but the PRIMA all weather seat cover is manufactured by CoolAss but with Scooterworks private label. The only thing I can tell is the price is slightly lower under the Prima label but they make no mention of CoolAss' guarantee...replacement or money back if you're not happy..including torn, waterleaking, etc.

I like their product and love their customer service.

I'm one of those people who will send a steak back to the kitchen if it's not cooked to my liking BUT I'll also praise those when it's due and this company has been great. They've got an inexpensive product but it works as advertised. And the company philosophy of serving the customer is phenomenal. They deliver as promised or earlier with great communication the whole way through. They've got an absolute guarantee of satisfaction to replace a cover or refund your money and they follow through. I've had my first two replaced when the elastic tore around the edging.

I own three CoolAss covers and have one No Pets cover prepaid. No kickbacks I'll show you my receipts for the purchase of those covers if you'd like.

If only all companies had products as good as theirs and a philosophy to treat their customers as well as CoolAss does.

I only learned about their guarantee, the Prima branded seat cover, and the new No Pets cover because I attended Amerivespa 2009 and I ask ALOT of questions.

BTW, go to the Smrfmobile's webpage (see link in sig file below) you'll see I list all the vendors of my accessories/mods that I'm happy with.

Not really necessary. You just seemed very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the product. I will totally promote, rave and shill for products I've used that win me over, so I get it. Just surprised that someone would be so into a seat cover!

I'm an enthusiastic kinda person (if you haven't noticed), just get me talkin about my pups or scooting. Wanna hear about my favorite Vespa dealer? (eh you can read about them on my webpage Santa Cruz Vespa Santa Cruz Vespa) And you can tally up the $$ I've spent from my webpage and NO I don't want a bird shitting on my investment of $$, let alone on my ride.

Honestly it drives me nuts to sit on a wet seat...I can deal with a hot seat but I was ready to sew a plastic trash bag into my safety pants to use as a liner until I discovered the CoolAss.

But, thanks for asking. I'm sure it crossed other people's minds. Santa Cruz Vespa Man, did you hear that or is it just me?!? Laughing emoticon

NO I just made that jpg up for no reason... KIDDING.. yes it is. Memorial day weekend. Per Bradford Duval, Prez of VCOA "Not sure on the dates. We will post the as soon as we know. The holiday is Monday. Depends on facilities availability etc.. We will announce it all soon in the new amerivespa newsletter. People can sign up for it here:

http://amerivespa.org/contact.html "

And back to our regularly scheduled advertisement for the CoolAss... just kidding... Amerivespa had some cool vendors, lots of neat things...one guy had a wicker Vespa for sale for $1500!!! Wha? emoticon But, 2009 was really great and I'm already psyched for 2010 myself. So, like I said I like something, I'll share my love of it. IE my point in attaching the San Antonio jpg

Ok, on that note...I'm outtie ...going for a long ride. Stay safe.

CoolAss Amerivespa
Hello all:

Our heart-felt thanks for your support of CoolAss. Everyone we met at Amerivespa in California was positively delightful -- we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Pictures have been added to our web site --

Very best to all.
