With a stock engine, I think you'll find that the only advantages are a bit more pleasing exhaust note and a bit less weight.
I made several mods to my LX150 a few months ago, including installing a Sito+. I did top speed and averaged 0 - 40 mph timed runs after each individual mod. There was no measurable difference in either from simply installing the Sito.
The Sito probably does breathe a little more freely than the stock system, but this probably does not translate to a performance increase unless one installs a larger carburetor and/or a larger-displacement cylinder kit.
I know there has been a huge amount of feeback on the Sito, but I just put the pipe on my 2004 ET4 las Monday. After around 100 miles of a variety of terrain, here's the results. (I weight 160lbs and the ET4 is stock.)
I definitely lost some power on the bottom end. (0-30) I tried adjusting the fuel mixture screw, but only managed a marginal improvement. It just doesn't have the torquey feel anymore.
I definitely gained some power on the top end. (45-60) In fact, I can hold 60 (indicated) much easier on hills and into the wind. I can also get up to 65 much easier.
I've heard this before by a few others on the site, but it appears the Sito pushes the peak horsepower from the lower range to the upper range. Now, I'm sure this could be adjusted with a new variator, but I really like the extra power on the top end. I do a lot of back roads highway cruising and holding 55-60 is much improved.
