I went to my vespa shop to buy a front wheel lock that attaches to the brake disk.
Unfortunately they were all out of this item.
The sales guy told me it was useless on a small scoot and just use the steering lock.
I said it does not work on the S50. He showed me on an S50 floor model and sure enough it worked!
Went back home tried it but can get it work.

So how do I lock the steering of my vespa S50?

sometimes you have to wiggle it a bit, but dont count on the fork lock to stop a thief

The best thing if your worried about some one taking your scoot. Is in my opinion is using a chain lock for motorcycles or scooters. If the steering is locked it will stop most people but if some one wants it badly. When the steering is locked all you need is two guys. Then pick the rear up and walk side ways and roll the scoot on the front wheel. I work at a Motorcycle shop and once a guy left his Vespa for service and the steering locked and for got to leave key. So at the end of the day, that is what we did to get in in to the shop to close up for the night until he brought the key to us the next day. If some one wants it they will get it. Just make sure you have good insurance.

Make sure the handle bars are all the way to the left when you turn the key into the lock position.

I have a motorcycle chain but it takes a lot of space. I use it when I go to work and when I lock my scoot for the day. But for a quick errand run I need all the space.

I find on mine, if you push it all the way to the left, then slighty to the right theres a spot somewhere in there that should find itself with some wiggling

But yeah i agree about the chainlock, i put mine on if im in an area i dont know well.
