I went for a 5-odd hour ride on my GTS 300 Super today at high speeds on the motorway for most of the time, and when I'd got home I noticed the pink coolant dripping out of the black knee pad, and the bottom of the glove box into the footwell.

Has anyone else experienced this...I know people have mentioned coolants being low before, could this be why?

Yes, I experience this after almost every ride. Usually in the morning after it has had time to drip down onto the floor board.

I checked and then the dealer service checked all the hoses and everything looks good. We were speculating that maybe it was coming from the cap due to it working out air in the line or something like that. Service cleaned the cap and it didn't happen for about a week, but this morning there was a decent size puddle of it on my floor board and the white canister behind the kneepad is again wet with coolant.

The coolant loss is slow, so I haven't been overly concerned by it causing over-heating problems, but my service guy at calmoto said he would check with his piaggio contact and see if others have seen this and what it might be. I'm hoping it is just overflow from the cap and not a crack in the canister, but I will let you know if I hear anything useful.

It *may* have been over-filled and when really hot just expelled some excess.

But you *may* have a duff hose-clamp somewhere. It'd be very well worth stripping it down a bit to find out where the coolant esaped from.

They are designed to run over 100C, but below the boiling point for a 50:50 coolant mix. The pressures can get quite high inside the system though!

At least for me, the fluid was never above the min setting.
