Any ideas on how I ight make my 2009 Piaggio Fly 150 a bit faster? Ideally something that does not require alot of money or difficult installation. Thanks.

Cheapest & easiest mod: http://www.scooterwest.com/item_detail/LX-150-38-Idle-Jet/2084/

Some say it doesn't make a difference, but my scooter seems to accelerate quicker. No change in top speed though.

Pushing it over a cliff tends to work quite well. Obviuosly the higher the cliff the more speed you can get. The sudden stop at the bottom does tend to cause slight scuffing to the paintwork though! Razz emoticon

Change the rear pulley -> better acceleration
Multivar form Malossi bit more top with heavy weights or better accel. with 9,5 weights.
Or change the cylinder to a 190 ccm.
That's all for a fly.

How do you make this Mod? Is it just a simple unscrew and screw this in?
And do you need to adjust anything more complicated like the carburetor? (if so, how hard is it to do that?)

If you make the rider lighter you will go faster. Razz emoticon There is also a Malossi 190 cc kit that should work too.

That's the issue I had with my LX150 so I traded it for a GTS250.

I've done it to my LX150. You can expect it to get rid of the slight lag in throttle response when you first crack the throttle open (therefore making the riding experience more pleasurable), but -- by itself -- this mod won't really produce a measurable improvement in acceleration. Suggest combining it with going down one step in the variator roller weights, which -- in the case of my LX -- produced a 0.6 sec improvement in the 0 - 40 mph time without affecting the top end. Both mods are cheap and easy to do, but they will have a slight negative effect on fuel economy if you make regular use of the improved acceleration.

Make it faster? Do you mean "top speed?" If you want top speed, your most reliable option is a larger scooter.

But if it's everything else, other than top speed, then you should explore the world of Track Days.

The tires on the Fly 150 are very wide. This scooter's cornering capability far exceeds the engine's capacity for power output. In fact, this scooter's cornering capability exceeds most motorcycles. So learn to lean.

That's best done on the track.

Is there any difference in the Fly 150 that's sold in the USA versus Canada? Will this new 38 jet improve anything for Canadian models?

Then the switch to this new jet will benefit my scoot as well. Good to know.

I noticed a difference in acceleration on my Fly 150 with the Prima pipe. I had already done the idle jet change. Top end is the same. If it's top speed you want, get a windscreen. That will give you a couple of MPH.

I'm a chicken when it comes to leaning. Thanks for your comment above. Makes me feel more confident about leaning
