steveo there was no reason for you to take another personal shot at Luthorhuss in this thread.
Pray tell, where was the personal shot? He's just demonstrated just what he's made of, and that offends me slightly. I offered my apology, and he runs off. Thanks. More fool him.

There are two elements here -- the person and their action. It is OK to not dispute an action (like riding on a bald tire) but NOT OK to attack the person and that is what the new poster did.
What about a rapist? A murderer? Would you be so willing to seperate person from action here? This view is far too idealistic for me to stomach. Granted, comparing a reckless driver to a murderer or rapist may seem stupid, but you sit down and have a chat with a family who lost one of their loved ones through the neglect of another, a drunk driver, someone on their mobile phone while driving... and then tell me that they don't hold as much contempt for the person who tore their family apart.
The OP broke the law and posted about it, completely oblivious to the damage he could have caused. End of.

Jerry, you aren't getting it. I went ballistic because what the OP did was illegal. Key word, illegal. I wouldn't go ballistic at you for being 'too short for you bike' because that is none of my business. When someone begins to so openly flaunt the law on a public forum, it becomes my business, I have experience in the grief that can be caused by vehicle neglect. The reaction in this case was quite appropriate, I mean, he won't do that again, will he? I imagine it highlighted to all the other forumites that can't take care of their bikes that they might need to check their tyres when they get home - you never know, I may have just saved someone's life.
It's just a shame that too many people jumped in there, when it wasn't their argument to get involved with. Bandwagon mentaility, some of you are like Lemmings.
