How about this one? Looks like real deal, though not quite as powerful as the ones that usually get discussed on here.

Don't laugh ..some people collect those Peg Perego scooters. They've made them for a LONG time, including awesome little P-series ones with metal frames. If you saw one of those you'd immediately be on ebay trying to get one for your kid, or to sit in your livingroom, because they seriously look like a 1/5th size P-series.

Check this shit..i just found the one i was talking about. A 1984 Peg Perego that Lil Nate from the Pharohs got and restored for his daughter... there's more pics in the link but you have to fix them by deleting the end bracket in the link.

http://scooterbbs.net/bbs/showthread.php?t=74652&highlight=peg+perego

Painting the frame ( looks just like our normal sized ones! )

Last summer I was sitting in a cab in traffic in Cairo and this guy rode by on a bicycle with a little metal Vespa tide to the back of his bike. It was pretty rusty, so I think it was about 20 years old. I should have jumped out and chased him down to by it from him.

If you ever do see one of the "toy" vespas for sale, definetly, do not hesitate to buy it. They are fun projects.
I got one off of CL in washington DC for $40. Its a pedal scoot, and it had been thoroughly thrashed by his kids, but it was solid and so I "restored" it.
I had to rework the rear axle, and the tires were beyond saving, so I put on plastic wheelbarrow tires from Lowes. Some go fast stickers, a cut to size yoga mat for a seat, some fineline tape and a quick clean up and polish did wonders for it. My kids (twins) totally love it, desipte its less than perfect drive train. They take turns driving.

Here's a movie- it takes a few minutes to load up-

http://gallery.me.com/portergieske#100303/VID00037&bgcolor=ltgrey

the recent scoot! mag has an article on this subject

Do you think that's the sort of thing that after your kids grow up, you'd be willing to sell to someone else ( scooter enthusiast ) with kids on the way ? My house is literally a gallery of scooter prints and artwork ... this hobby is my life... and i'd love to have a REAL METAL VINTAGE toy scooter for my kids to enjoy and feel like they share in my love of the things.

Maybe not use a term that has Elite as the root word around the kids. You don't want to confuse them.

Ok then, from now on, I'll try to make sure that it makes it back into the safe haven of the garage every night, so it doesn't see any rain. Maybe I'll do some minor upkeep on it too.

Hang on to my email addy, and send me a request when you are sprouting spuds sucessfully. Good luck slipping one past the goalie, as they say.

best-
