I got a bloody ticket today doing my bit and marking exam papers. 23 fails out of 25. Depressing.

Fingers crossed for Mr WM as he navigates the test centre at Greenford tomorrow... on a dirty Honda.

Indeedy. He's a good rider from little I've seen, so should be a doddle, but various appendages crossed just in case.

I think I'm going to do an all-nighter tonight. Reset body clock and all that.

I dropped mine off with Geomoto this morning for service, rear tyre and cutting-out invstigation, got the bus to work, got a phone call from the workshop manager half an hour later to say they don't have the oil filter in stock and wouldn't I rather bring it back on Monday and get the whole lot done then?

He just left and took his kittens with him.

His birthday also today.... new SH 300 sitting in the showroom if he passes.

So the Dirty Honda crew may be expanding.

Yeah, well Chiswick Honda won't release the scoot with out the original insurance certificate so no dice there.

A shame but then dealers can insist if they want.

Whic broker are you using? If it's Lexham they will email the cert to the dealer (which will be accepted as it's a PDF). I seem to remember he used Lexham when he bought the original 125....

Anyway, his nibs has gone out on my 300 as a treat for passing his test and I don't need to see the insurance for that.

Since it is his birthday today, I got him some proper gloves and a buff. He looks very cool.

Whoo-hoo! The GP800 is back, and all is tickety-boo. The new Navigator tool at CBS immediately spotted there was a mapping update required, which apparently took all of 4 minutes to download then upload to the bike. Neil took it out for a blast - not a hint of hesitation or stalling.

Back it went to WRG, had a new front tyre fitted - total cost of the 18,000 mile service including the front tyre was... GBP225! Admittedly I had already sourced the rollers and oil filter, so it was just the oil and a new air filter plus 2.5 hrs labour. So much for the nay-sayers who claimed the 18,000 mile service would cost over GBP600!

Yep, a happy curmudgeon for once.

Alice, get your shop to do the update if they have the new Navigator, they'll need it for the GTS300 and any other new models anyway.

Thanks for all the congratulations. Went for about 1h15 today on WM's GTS300. Very nice. Very responsive to throttle; it might have been rather interesting had I not been riding a geared bike for a few days prior!

Spent the afternoon learning to ride a Honda CG 125 in a car park in Ealing in order to go shifty. Oh the glamour.

Managed to get the basics down, but will be sticking to an automatic in town.

I was glad to get back on the Super and run home before I destroyed the clutch. I need a lot more practice and some cheap arse geared 125 cc thing.

Remember to kick a CG hard from 1st to 2nd.

Trying to go round a roundabout in neutral is hard.

Finally a picture of the LML Star. The white walls are going and being changed to Zippy 1s as they handle like shit.

Shame about the whitewalls having to go because it looks superb but if they worry you they really have to go.

Take lots of pictures and plenty of memories.

My own news is that I've just gone for a 12 mile ramble with ramblers.
