A339 from Basingstoke to Alton is your friend Bill.
I was there overnight and all I could hear in the morning was the roar of performance exhaust. An excellent biking road. |

If I ever sell the ET there will definitely be some profit there. The Star should hold its value relatively well as should the Honda. But Bill, none of them are for sale (yet). Which one do you want??? I suspect it is the ET4, but I could be wrong! |

Give me an E ! If all my plans come to fruition I'll be needing a sacrificial lamb to keep the mileage down on the Hornet so I can carry on being on two wheels through the cold months but not have to clean it every weekend.

Jim, do you have any more info on the up-to-date computer, like when it came out or a version number or anything? Otherwise I'm susceptible to getting fobbed off if I ask.
Lovely weekend: Bournemouth Air Show. Easy, free motorcycle parking, excellent weather, aviation-minded friends and the Vulcan! |

PM incoming Alice.
One thing I've noticed after the upgrade - while not-yet-hot, and after idling a while (traffic light say) - there is a very slight hesitation on take-off. This will either go away or get 'lived-with' - it's no problem in itself. The stalling issue has completely vanished. It first appeared at about 12,000 miles on mine as well. It will get worse to the point of unrideability in town traffic if not dealt with. |

SH300 acquired.
Wow. Not as comfy (or as pretty) as the GTS300, but a grand improvement over the SH125 in all areas, including seat quality. |

i'm a pedestrian for the next two weeks the interloper is in the capable hands of dave of LSBS. while i'm very pleased to be having all of its quirks sorted out, i'm feeling a bit lost without it. i rode a bus today
oh, and bill and doug - remember those paint spots on the cowl that we couldn't get out no matter how hard we buffed? i have two words for you: cellulose thinners. Dave rubbed them out in about 45 seconds a promising start. |

Just remind me who will be at Brighton this weekend either on the Sunday or the Monday Bank Holiday.
I'm also going to visit Brands Hatch on the 5th and 6th of September for the German Touing Cars if anyone else is interested. Bill X |

Sent. So far my plan is ride to Brighton on the Sunday then stay over in Tunbridge Wells that night and return in the morning before the idiots get on the roads.
I'm going to aim for Carluccios around 10am which is just up from the Brighton Dome but you know what happens to the best laid plans. All the important people have my mobile so lets see who turns up. Bill X |

I will attempt to make it as soon as possible. But it does depend on what time I wake up on Monday morning. I will be there 10 or thereabouts. I will need a coffee and a muffin immediatly.
Genie, it's a shame you and the other-half won't make it. I was looking forward to meeting you both again. Can't you steal something from Dougs fine scooter-stable? |

help me
Mooch around looking at the Mod stuff on the front then point and stroke our respective beards while we enjoy the sights.
I have to get a Vespa mug from the Mod shop in the Lanes but apart from that there isn't really an agenda. Just hanging out with the crue. Bill X Oh yeah I think Alice and I are meeting up at The Oakdeane Cafe in Wrotham on the morning of the 6th of September for a breakie. Anyone care to join us ? |

Where do Skokers buy their scooter accessories? Specifically I'm looking to go somewhere and take a look at a Givi GPS bag (S850) and some scooter panniers (as well as possibly a GPS unit).
With regards to soft panniers, does anyone know if they end up scratching the bodywork? Cheers, David |

i buy pretty much everything at scootech, and I know they carry Givi. if you want to have a look at the satnav bag you could probably get them to order one for you with no obligation to buy. I'd be interested to hear your opinions on its quality/ergonomics/etc.
re. the panniers - sorry can't help you on that one. i think the tucano panniers come with a cork pad to prevent scratching of the bodywork which suggests that it may be a problem. i know that the rubbing of my gear bag on the floorboards of the Interloper during our holiday resulted in some dulling of the finish - nothing that can't be cured with a bit of polish, but annoying nonetheless. |
