I've got a new idea for settling insurance claims.

You get paid out for your new scooter straight away if the driver is at fault.

Then you are given a hammer and get to wap seven shades of shit out of the offender's car for 10 minutes.

Could be worse. I looked up the salvage yard it's going to, and there's a Vespa there with 72km on the clock.

I managed almost 10x that before crashing mine, including the A339, A272, Brighton, and a sprint down an airfield runway at full chat.

It may have died young, but at least it saw something outside of Central London.

now now, let's be adult about this .... i say that victims should be given access to an unlimited supply of lager, and invited to take a pee in the driver's seat. depending on the certain variables (severity of damage, value and age of scooter, etc.) you can bring mates with you.

I've read that the French have a thing called the constat amiable d'accident, where both parties have to come to an agreed version of the facts before they're allowed to leave the scene of the accident.

The police are only involved if they can't do so, and then the constat goes to the insurers and William is your pere's frere.

Phew.

Just finished working on the X9 250, replacing the SAS pipe. This is part of the secondary air system, and feeds air into the exhaust manifold to help emissions. What a bloody bitch that was! All dark under the bike even up on the lift in this bright sunlight, zero room for fingers to 'do things' to bolts etc, and the shape of the pipe itself prevents the use of a socket on one of the bolts. Took an hour of manipulative contortions to get done - apart from all the plastics removal before and after.

Still, nice to be outdoors on what may have been the last hot day of the year.

It looks like it was strapped on well enough.

Having said that I've seen some pretty dodgy looking transporter drivers in my time.

Was it a painful goodbye ?

I realised it wasn't going to be too painful when I realised I didn't care about whether it was strapped down tightly or not. I think I'm passing to the "acceptance" phase.

We were scheduled for a week in Crete starting today. Mother Nature delivered a major blow job - high winds, that is. Ferry canceled and no open seats until Fri. Since we have to be back to help with a Big, Fat Greek Wedding by Tues night, no sense in going.

At least we have the wedding to look forward to (Marina, the owner of Konstantza Cafe in Naousa, for those here blessed to have sipped a cappuccino there) and the Peloponnese in Oct with our village association.

Not really. Which is why I expect it's off to be scrapped. Given how it was treated during loading, there's probably more damage now, especially to the exhaust. But I double-checked, and that's the recoverer's responsibility. You wouldn't know I'm married to a solicitor, would you? I was thinking of getting a black Honda SH300. I hear they're quite good, and they have these nice sparkles in the finish.

Arrrrgh - don't say any more about BSG. I had plumber come round to fix a radiator 6 months ago and it turned out he was a real sci-fi nut. He persuaded me that BSG was definitely worth watching. Now it's become an obsession and I've watched all the films and episodes up to episode 11 in the 4th series. So no more giving the game away until I've reached the end!

okay, without giving too much away, BSG1980 is really, really disappointing. the biggest sci-fi letdown i've experienced in yahrens. i wept with frustration

I'll probably stop at the end of series 4 - I need to get my life back anyway. All I can say is thank god they didn't have 4 series of 20 episodes of Firefly otherwise I'd be permanently glued to the telly.

Hello all, I have had a busy week and not looked at MV that much.
I can however say lots of nice things about Batman Arkham Asylum on the xbox 8)

This morning I rolled out the Hornet from the garage and hosed it down with water then I used Autogylm's Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner to get the bugs and the dust off then I washed that off with plain water.
After leathering it I polished all of the painted surfaces with Autoglym Super Resin Polish then used Supagard Clear Coat Protector for all of the vinal bits.
That done I got what I think is clay based glass polish on the fly screen then used Farecla's Gold Top on all of the crome surfaces.
Yeah it looks pretty stunning now and do you know what it never gets boring.

Later in the a day I turned into a woman,but in a shoppng sense.
I went to the first shop looking for a pair of boots and found a pair I liked then went to another 7 or was it 8 shops to compare and contrast other pairs then went into the first shop and bought the pair I saw first.
Next up the 200 meters. Oh a little bit of politics !
