doug you only rubbed its cowl lustfully, you didn't actually do any work on it
and bill you haven't even seen it although i am going to be kind enough to let you have at it with one of your shiny potions this weekend.

Agreed and I'm flattered that you are going to let me have my way with the Interlopers paint work this weekend.
I've even found some very special finishing polish that doesn't have a name. A bodyshop guy gave it to me as a favour and I forgot I had it. It's the colour of the sky and it brings my helmet up lovely. Bill X |

I thought you'd had an off for a moment, but I take it it's 'distressed' finish Rather nice!
Genie, I couldn't get a good photo of Click (odd as he's generally not moving quite so fast as Point), but here: http://pics.livejournal.com/huskyteer/pic/00089r8a/ (Note white sockies.) |

New? Bit scuffed up innit?
I jest, of course. Pretty smart design, that - I like 'em blocky and simple. Needless to say it wouldn't be one I'd wear myself but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the look of it. Also, I've got a Nitro lid. |

Yes I really like that design. Looking good and just a little patriotic.

It would be nice to take it for a ride, see how it handles.
Would you sell the GTV to finance the purchase? Personally I would like both but if I had to choose I would choose a Vespa. |

Replacement SH300 ordered
A quick update on my insurance claim.
I've finally finished all of the paperwork for my claim, and am now waiting to hear whether liability can be agreed by the car driver. My replacement SH300 has been ordered. The dealer doesn't have any black ones in stock anywhere, so it's going to be two weeks before I have it. I could have a silver one now, but I prefer the black. So it looks like I'll be coming to the Pilot on the 11th either on my hire bike, or as a pillion if they want it back before then. |

I've not heard of either.
Mind I'm the sad bugger watching the qualifying from Japan at 530am right now. Always been an early riser. |

Qualifying at 5:30? Good man!
I woke up with the most outrageous hangover I've had in ages this morning and almost cried because the motogp qualifying wasn't on. Watching the 125s now though so I clearly just woke up too early. I remember doing the "beer before wine makes... No wait. Wine after beer m- Stuff it - please may I have a bottle of red, barkeep?" thing. I doubt that old adage holds any weight in reality though: the demon drink is the demon drink no matter what flavour it comes in. My mate then left me a terrifying panic voicemail asking if I had his Telecaster, which would be a ridiculous notion for many reasons: a) he's the guitarist b) I live miles from the pub c) although I remember holding a guitar I have no recollection of getting one out of a taxi... One dread-filled trip downstairs has turned up that I am one axe richer than when I left for work yesterday so the panic is over. My hangover didn't need that rise in heart rate, although I am on the mend so maybe it did. My tongue remains like a vagrant's scrotum though.

Yes it seems I'm up again at 5am watching the actual race. Mind you I did fall asleep at 7pm last night after planning a short nap then woke at 1am only to fall asleep again to wake at 430.
What's happened to my body clock and why am I so comfortable about having a nap on a Saturday night ? Right, get this race out of the way and it's down to Hastings. I'm leaving at 8am in the hope that there won't be anyone else on the road. Fat chance. Ride safe all. Bill X |

i finally let bill have his way on saturday .... he polished the 'loper within an inch of its life, treated all the vinyl, buffed all the glass, and it gleams like a new pin
the ride down and back wasn't the most fun i've ever had.... strong crosswinds plus a mongover plus the beginnings of a heavy cold added up to a cruntish ride, but it was fun watching the loper emerge into gorgeousness - bill allowed me to polish the windscreen and headlight. i think i did okay. there is still cow shit on the centerstand from cornwall so i've got to get up under there with the hose next weekend some pics.... the interloper and the hornet

Plus I'm wearing a top that I bought in shop for Homosexual Gentlemen in Amsterdam. It's a small difference but worth noting. |
