i never got into the beatles i was raised on a diet of george gershwin, bach, choral music, and prokofiev... around the time all my mates discovered the beatles, i discovered uriah heep, john rutter, and thomas pynchon ..... [*how to boil up your own prize-winning nerd in three easy steps*]

My parents were opera/classical freaks and never played pop music. I hated opera. I now love that too - saw Carmen at the Royal Opera House yesterday.
Currently listening to the Amorphous Androgynous, which I can recommend, if you like ODD. Music was my first love.... |

Boy do I feel old. I was an Eagles fan while working in L.A. in the 70's.
I've even got Don Henley's signature on a parking ticket that got me off a stiff fine. Long story behind that. Great groups and great days that we won't see again. Too bad. Those were the days. |

You need to book months in advance for the ROH which is a pain. I used to have a cheats diary that told me when to apply. It was a fun evening, I looked like farm hand in the Floris Hall wearing a pair of old jeans, knee boots and an argyle golf jumper. I used to dress for the opera but these days I wear what the hell I like. It irritates the suits. |

can I just say you guys are way too cool
classical music, latin words etc (jim), you guys!! if you ask me The Beatles are the best the world has ever seen and I don't care that they are popular, I listen to it for about 26 years now and never goes out of style or stops me wanting to "shake my booty" the remastered albums are a treat, I'm thoroughly enjoying my fresh collection my second favourite band is AC DC, again I don't care I will sound like I'm one of Beavis and Butthead (I tried many times to get Alex a Metallica tshirt so we'd walk around like B&B) I find it hard to find new music that turns me on like those two above. the new AC DC album is good but it's not like the old ones. I get bored with tunes very quickly and like with clothes, I never have enough to listen to/wear, and I have over 10,000 songs in my iTunes.. |

He played solo for nearly three hours, then came back out in fresh clothes to sign CDs. What a trooper! And he kissed me. (He kissed the girls in front of me, who were young and pretty, so I asked if I got one too.) Welcome back, Charles - here are some goats for you, met while staying in Normandy.: http://pics.livejournal.com/huskyteer/pic/0007tk6p/s640x480 |

<vent> bloody thieving gobshites <vent>
I have had a rather large amount (for me) money stolen from my business bank account today. When I telephoned the bank to tell them about it, the customer service advisor said 'Are your sure your wife never spent it?' I politely pointed out that my wife was not a thief. And the fraudulent amount has been replaced (over 10K). Be careful what you buy online people. |

Bill XX I performed at The Thompson twins Birthday Party at the Playboy Mansion in Buckinghamshire. Without warning, they let off the biggest fireworks display I had ever seen at 3.00am. I think it was the last straw for the local farming community and the place was shut down shortly afterwards. Recently, in the garden of Buckingham Palace, Paul McCartney spotted me watching from the stalls, broke off from his sound check, walked to the very front of the stage, pointed at me and said, 'Fay Presto, you are a f(word)ing genius'. One of the finest moments of my life! Fay. |

Best gigs - Ginger Baker and Friends, Hyde Park 1969, Frank Zappa somewhere in San Francisco sometime the same year. Bit blurry about that one.
Only magician I've seen live was David Nixon a few years before - I was at school with his son, so we had several opportunities to see him perform. |

another lovely afternoon of fettling finally met mike_bike_kite at last and listened to his hair-raising crash stories.
two GT200s left with gleaming new guts in the transmissions, including an emergency stop at scootech to sort out mike's broken clutch spring. the third left with black pillion pegs finally installed, but in an annoying development i found i'd got the wrong crash bars for the GT, and taken them to the powdercoaters for a lovely coating of satin black, so back to scootech we went - they were very decent about it and are getting me in the proper bars and will split the cost of my next (third time lucky!) visit to the powder coaters. so if anyone can think of anything they want powder-coated satin black... |

It wasn't a bad day out at Dougs was it ? Thank you once again Doug for your patience and guiding hand. I'd be lost without you.
Mike it was a pleasure to meet you for the first time but I'm concerned about the fact that you remind me of my old Geography Teacher and also the fact that you are quite content to have a crash every 2 years. The only rubbish bit of the afternoon was the Nova that pulled out infront of Genie and I on the way back from getting the fish and chips. I was just clipping the apex and ooops there it was in the middle of the road. Well done for Scootech to fixing the clutch spring on Mikes "mint " GT in less then 20 minutes and to Doug for wisking it there and back. Genie seems to have taking a liking to the Hornet and at one point was seen to be lounging all over it like a game show host's assistant. Shame we didn't get that on camera. Having said that I do look like I'm about to say " what does this part do ?" As you can see we all had a jolly lot of fun. Isn't it great to be a Kok ? Bill XXX |
