Greetings, Donks and Donkettes-- The new joint is starting to look a lot like the old one. Kate's epic morning hangover adds just the right touch. 8) I do agree that carrot juice and spandex is a bad idea.

Genie, sorry to hear about kitty-- My dear cat Spot lived to be almost 20yo w renal failure and thyroid problems, and we both got comfy with daily pills, and later fluids. Among many informative sites about this, here's one: http://www.felinecrf.com/

I ended up getting steep discounts on both pills [from Canada!] and fluids [lactated ringers in bulk]. Good luck to you both--

Sorry, not me. Not only too far out, but the house is in a worse state than any student rat-hole you've ever thought of. Someone should put me up for 'Life of Grime'.

I just thought a reply, even if in the apologetic negative, was better than leaving you in limbo and tempted by the YMCA or easy-hotel.

Trouble is, in London, everyone's an hour away wherever they are. Crying or Very sad emoticon

Except my local.

Right, that's it, barbie at my place start of decent weather next year, sleep-over for those who bring sleeping bags, hold me to it rigorously folks.

Bugger, this reset body-clock 'thang' has obviously addled my brain.

Because I plan to visit him on Saturday morning and then do other stuff in London with people I havn't even asked if they are around yet.
I fancy a couple of galleries and shit.

After Duxford I'm probably going to nut it home and it's easier to go via the Dartford Tunnel than West London.

Oh I'm so looking forward to Sunday.

Oooh a new thread.... sorry again, I've been absent for so long and it has taken me until page four to get in here. More time in Ireland and Italy, a week of exams and drinking every night. My liver needs a serious detox. Wonder, I spent half the time in Italy at the conference trying to persuade my boss (at breakfast) that I wasn't drunk. That was difficult, as my mouth did not seem to be connected to my brain.

Tuscany was wonderful, photos of Pontadera elsewhere!

Won't be able to come to Duxford as I will be away next weekend - Belfast again. In fact I am getting a bit pissed off with airports (and Ryanair!!).

The pear version isn't too bad apart from this strange insistence on calling it 'pear cider' when we have the perfectly serviceable word 'perry', and the whole business with having it over ice...

...oh, what am I saying? Lidl's Normandy Cider at £1.33 a bottle is infinitely superior.

Rats, I meant to add to my prediction on the late-lamented old thread: 'or Genie loses patience and locks it'.

Not you as well.

There is a whole world of difference between a perry and a "pear cider". The first being that perry is made from perry pears, and nothing else, whereas "pear cider" is made from high fructose corn starch, fermented up to about 15%, watered back down to about 5%, and then dosed with a variety of colourings and flavourings, together with (I assume) a dash of pear juice (so that they can say "the only fruit in this is pears", whilst not pointing out that the total fruit content is about 0.000000000000001%).

The only solution is that I remember to bring back some proper perry the next time we go to hfds, and to make sure we pour lots of down your throat until you see sense(less) Laughing emoticon

In the meantime, please hold onto this mantra: "Magners is evil; Bulmers is evil;"Pear cider" is the devil's piss."

Ohhh, is that the difference? I thought this was merely another example of dumbing down. Or a desire to disassociate from the most well-known perry, Lambrini.

...can we stop talking about lovely booze when I'm stuck in the office, please?

It's not yet clear if it is possible for the Unity Ride to go ahead, at least not in the format it has been done before. At the moment the Police are unable to provide an escort, so no riding through red lights - which is half the fun! The Unity team is working on this right now. I'll post as soon as there is any definite news.

Yes, but then I'd hack back in again. Razz emoticon

Woke up at a much more reasonable time today. Still had a lie-in, but I'm much more confident now of getting up at 05:00 on Thursday ready for a 4-day blast across Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany and back.

I looked at my GP800 rear tyre today. Hmm... not fully worn by any means, but I have felt it to be a bit 'wiggly' the last time I rode it. So new tyre going on Wednesday, as I need decent rubber for the sort of riding coming up. Walton Garage said it's a do-it-while-you wait thing, come anytime. Suits me.
