That is unfairly cute, Kam. I was temporarily deprived of the power of speech, thought or anything other than grinning goofily.

Well then you won't want to come around to the new WM abode.
After a lot of looking and umming, we're finally moving home at the end of the month, to a nice Victorian house in Forest Hill. Suburban but close to the centre. Not better for scooters, but space, a garden with shed (yeah) and outside bog (don't worry it has an inside too), two beds and most importantly of all, we can have a cat! Woo hoo! |

Excellent news! I hope I can come round some time to make the acquaintance of the as yet unacquired kitteh.

I always had cats as a child but went right off all domesticated animals when my children were very young - maybe it was some sort of instinctive protective behaviour on my part.
I got the kitten primarily because my kids wanted a pet but mrs Kam and I are totally smitten and like nothing more than sitting by the fire with a glass of red wine while daisy luxuriates on the rug in front of the fire. |

When it gets to the right stage you can buy it a bag of nip to add to the amusement. I'm looking for a tabby or a Jellical. Alice, we'll not be very far from you at all, so you're welcome to come around (as indeed you all will be). |

Woo hoo! re. kittehs - yes the plural is intentional. i'd suggest more than one. if my orky didn't hate all other living things except me, i'd have gotten her a companion some time ago. a small herd of cats isn't that much more expensive to keep than a single kitteh, and they will keep each other company when you and mr. wonder are away. |

Two cats good?
Me, I'm a bit scarred from the time of having 7. Even when we got down to 3 they still fought like cat and er, cat. Too many cats, not enough territory.
If we had two to start, it might be okay. I don't want two mad beasts who are constantly taking lumps out of each other, so if they grow up together that might be alright. |

you should be okay with two from the same litter. i had a pair of sisters once (that didn't come out right) ... they loved each other to bits and got on very well. take some time to observe litter dynamics when you go to pick your kitteh(s) out. if you get your cats from battersea, staff will be happy to help you with this as it's one of the things they observe when litters are born there.

Thanks for the tip, I'll talk to Battersea and ask their advice. I tend to pick cats which have a lot of chutzpah, so perhaps it is not surprising they fight. |
