God, I remember that episode.
It wasn't entirely due to Ulysses 31 that I ended up doing a four-year Classics degree, but it probably helped. |

i realize i've been a bit greedy with novels - just so everybody knows, i don't intend to hoard them, and i'm happy to pass on anything that anybody else wants to read.

It sounded fun, so I did some googling, but to no avail. All I could find was something about some lady and kids stories a hundred years ago. |

Evening all!!
I hope all is well with the Donks. Molesworth and 90% of everything else that is ever discussed on the Daily Donk goes completely over my head. I don't mind though, I learn a little everyday. I am afraid I have been feeding my trainer fetish today and have two new pairs of Addidas in the post. For anyone who is interested 1 pair of orange sambas and a blue pair of Nizza lo trainers. I hope to see you all next Sunday. (15th) Go on you know you want to. |

I didn't know you had a trainer fetish! I have to restrict shoe-buying as 90% of the times I leave the house I'm wearing bike boots, so my shoes just sit at the bottom of my wardrobe all unloved.
I was introduced to molesworth shortly before I went to my own prep skool, where, astoundingly, we still used Kennedy's Shortbread Eating Primer (no canes, thankfully), so I've always been able to relate. |

decorating
A fun day taking down cupboards and wallpaper, and I've found a sign of a bad job. The orginal wallpaper looks like it was covered over and there was a underlaying paper used before the latest one went on. That probably made no sense, but I'm pissed off with having to go through 4 thicknesses of paper

Also, I've managed to dunk a generous portion of Hydrocortisone in my eye, which isn't making me feel particularly glad to be alive right now. Thankfully there are loads of things that do, so on balance I'm still good.
Still, my recommendation to all is avoid if at all possible. Did anyone see the rugby on BBC2? Them Welshers went to shit in the second half but really came back into it at the death. Ref missed a couple of potentially very important decisions near the death, although he actually had a great game. Also, had money on the Astons of the Village, so pretty chuffed with them. Definitely a good day. While I'm all about the sport, Ben Spies will be doing some racing in the motogp tomorrow, with a point to prove - should be a good watch! |

Afternoon all. How are we ?
Sorry I've not been very vocal recently but I've not been home for a couple of days and nowhere near a pc for that matter. I felt that I needed a bit of breathing space form everything so I went off the radar to resolve one or two issues that have been troubling me recently. It's not exactly on the scale of Jim Morrison going walkabout but I just needed to have a clear head to decide on a plan of action. One thing is for certain and that's that I'll be at the Pilot next Sunday for drinks and a chat and probably some food. Whose with me ? Bill Walkabout |

Can't make it. Studies and diy are taking priority at the mo.
Had a bit of a fuck up with an assignment the other day... so I can't let that happen again. need to get back to the frog like osmosis state i was in last year where I was just soaking up musical influence and readings. I'm also in the middle of a liberating experience of giving an old room new life. and I want to get it done asap. I think it's going to go well. At the moment I'm half and half whether to get the wall re plastered a bit, or to leave it sand and paint over so there's a nice texture to it... hmmm decisions, decisions. the texturing may work, if I go for a kind of sandy/light orangy terracotta type colour. Yup, busy like a bee. I'll try and make the next gathering. |

had a happy afternoon at doug's, fitting my heated grips (actually, watching him fit my heated grips - electric stuff is still, and always will be, very mysterious to me) and shooting some scooter porn for the MAG article which i'm now frantically writing. i've got two deadlines next tuesday and i'd like to make at least one of them.
doug also took some lovely shots of the GT and his gorgeous new GTS, soaking up the last of the afternoon sun. i'm looking forward to seeing them. |
