The NY Times reports that London got over 12" of Snow! Is that accurate?

i work nights and have been doing huge doughnuts and powerslides on the unit carpark in our masive toyota forklift

12" ? not down here in Kent. Maybe 8 inches max. More due at the weekend. Can't wait.

just got in. the ice is still like glass outside my house and i did a very graceful, silent 15 ft slide at the junction.

Kam I did a simular thing while driving a Audi A3 2.0 TDI S-Line in Lava Grey ( available from your local Audi dealership) today when I applied the brakes while approaching a set of lights and nothing happened.

Zero traction on the ice and I wasn't slowing down. I was lucky that there wasn't anything in front of me because I would have used that to brake with.
Oh yeah then the car starts to twist so I'm now starting to go sideways so I tried the only thing I knew and that was to pull the handbrake up and hope that the camber of the road pulled it straight.

I nearly dropped a cake in my shorts.

We're in the midst of a 20cm dump, and I did a circle about in the cage at a stop sign. Two glasses for me, and a change of underwear.

The wife dinged the Mondeo last night!
Bloody amateur.......too bleedin fast and too much brake i bet!
Only cracked the front bumper so it could have been worse i suppose....

Enjoying the snow?

No me neither, its crap for scooting, jogging and business.

My missus and her Honda Jazz (i know a little old ladies car) has been coping fantastically well on the ice, better than my brother-in-laws Megane which has been sliding all over the place.

I have been walking to work and really enjoying it, I pushed 2 cars and helped 1 older lady and 2 younger ladies up off of the ice this morning. I have seen numerous accidents and so much ridiculous driving it is truly frightening. Maybe it is time we added some extra components to passing a driving test in the UK, something which teaches people how to drive in adverse weather conditions?

No work tomorrow, I am taking the day off. I have had enough, I haven't seen a customer all week! I have a full day of appointments Saturday so hopefully I can make up for a poor week then.

My work situation took a bit of a dive this week and it won't start turning back up until I've made alternative arrangements, which I'll need to sort out this month. I was really at the point of needing to anyway but now I've been given the appropriate kick up the arse to get me seriously doing something about it.

At least I've got the scooter to head out on the open road and clear out the cobw- oh for fuck's sake, scratch that: "coldest night of the Winter" tonight and I can't be arsed digging it out of the snow anyway. Bah.

Canadian winter ... yet to use my snowblower and only shoveled twice. Thinking about it, the blower's for sale/rental ... any takers?

Bugger the blower, I like the snow.

snowblowers are loads of fun i used to volunteer to snowblow my parents' driveway just for the pleasure of sending a fountain of snow spraying 20' in the air.

Ka Snow Tales - and this is the final one I promise.

Friday morning the Ka couldn't get up the driveway due to the snow freezing to ice so there was no traction available I'm afraid so I reversed it back into the garage and launched it up the driveway in a style simular to Thunderbird 2 taking off minus the palm trees and dramatic music.

It wasn't pretty but it got me to work.

I spent the morning with Doug being very impressed with his new VW Tiguan in white.
Very nice and very well built. Drives like a dream and it's engine is amazing for a 1.4. The turbocharger and supercharger probably helps though.

Today I went girly shopping with Genie and her Mum to Infinity in Great Portland Street and now I'm the proud owner of A Caberg Trip in Gun Metal Grey.

It always helps to have a "femmes" input when you are buying clothing type stuff.

Black was nice and White would have made us look like clones so I went for the gun metal. Very sexy indeed.

Great helmet, Bill. I shopped for three years trying to find a comportable, full featured modular, and finally discovered the Trip (or Rhyno, as it was first called). Ardy is now waiting for one in what should be her size to try on.

Thanks. I'm very happy with it so far and I got it at a silly price so I'm a happy shopper.

I don't think I'll be taking to to Greece though. Me thinks that it's going to be too Nick Griffins Helmet that will be joining me for the trip.

I believe it gets a little warm over there in May and I like to feel the wind through my Helmet. Missus.

I wish the weather would improve so I can try it out.

Nice buy, Bill. When I was hunting around for my first helmet the Trip (in that nice metallic orange colour, Alice) was a definite contender. I found it pretty comfy but that's a pretty subjective criterion what with wildly varying head shapes.

Today the roads in the city centre have all dried and the temperature seems to have stayed above zero, so it's been taps aff all day and tonight I'm going to see if I can get the bike started and ride it around for a wee charge. If so I might be able to ditch the bus tomorrow!

It's been so long I genuinely wonder if I'll still be able to go the thing.

I got all excited yesterday afternoon because I could see tarmac on my road, but then we got another load dumped on us last thing at night, so train again for me today

nearly there, nearly there .... if i can be arsed to clear a short stretch of the pavement in front of my house, then i'll be riding on wednesday! if the scooter starts.

i hope i haven't forgotten how to ride. on a positive note, my posh winter coat and dainty not-suitable-for-riding boots have been seeing loads of action over the past few weeks.

Yeah its almost there - I took the stiletto route this evening and managed to overtake a worried looking woman in wellington boots on the footpath. Centre of town and you wouldn't even know it had been winter.

the pavement outside my house looks like polished glass. i'm not sure i'd be able to straddle it with the wierd leaning manoeuvre i need to do to get out without scraping my legshield on the gate.

i helped a close friend move house on saturday (he's just been kicked out by his wife) and nearly came a cropper every time i unloaded a heavy item from the back of the transit van.
