Who didn't have the rice ?
Wonder you are going to be a happy girl tomorrow because it's going to rain for the majority of the day.
I'm going down to Hastings to see about getting my tattoo finished and then I'm going to the movies with Nik while it throws it down. Maver has invited me to a rally in Amiens on the 25th - 27th of June and I think I'm going to go but unlike the rest of those "campers" I'm going to be a total girl and book a hotel. My girlfriend is going to very very busy that weekend so if anyone would like to come along with me they are more than welcome. You'll be safe don't worry. Bill X |

I could certainly imagine you polishing that guys Bentley Bill, It would permanently blind anyone who saw it on a sunny day however. in other news. Pop stars to Opera stars. wtf? Alan Titchmarsh Wtff? Marc (i rode my scooter in today. ) |

That Bentley looks like the potatoes we used make when I worked as a cook. We would take potatoes, rub them with butter, and then wrap them in foil. The ones we did the foil was tight to the skin of the potato and shaped like the car in the photo. Funny the way my mind works sometimes.... ![]() ![]() |

i've got what's known (round these parts anyway) as an "empty" this weekend. Which, as it happens, is nowhere near as exciting as it was 10 years ago. Unless anyone is about to roll up at some point with a tent and some smuggled booze.
I kind of forgot it was happening too until last night so have had little time to make any plans to occupy myself. I'm sure I'll work something out. I've actually got things to do: we are finally about to draw a line under our abortive flirt with Alfa ownership and I think I have to get a bit of a haircut. Also getting spare keys cut for the Focus - anyone know if a cobbler'll do that or will it need to be a Ford garage? As far as the haircut goes, it's always such a bloody wrench these days. Problem is, I tend to let it get a bit long which takes ages and then something always comes up which necessitates a right tidy up. I'm never very good at communicating what I want to the barber so I always dread this transition a bit, even though it seldom turns out that bad. Hmph. Anyway, I didn't mean to turn that post into such a whinge. Sorry about that. I'm over it now. |

The very nice man at the Ford Dealership will help you with that key but take the car and the V5 reg form with you when you do.
You may well have to wait for a few days while the key is ordered because most of the ones of that kind are laser cut. VW's and Audi's are anyway. You did the right thing going for the Ford and not buying and Afla. I was over at our local MOT center the other day and I actually saw a 145 that was still running. Off for a drive in the rain later and I'm actually looking forward to it. Like you Jim the GT is going to get a long run on Sunday. Love and Rockets. Bill XX |

Smaller than on TV.
Amiens is not a dump. I've been there plenty of times and it's a delightful place.
Granted not as nice Abbeville or Arras but still lovely and Jim you are right it's got an amazing Cathedral. So went to Hastings to get my tattoo sorted looked at but there was a bit of a gale blowing and it was lashing down with rain so I couldn't be arsed to walk to the Old Town so I'm looking for a tattooist closer to me plus the fact a local resident said there are better ones around. No I didn't pussy out but I did spend the afternoon with my mate Nik who you may remember had a bif of a fall on a ferry crossing late last year. You may also remember that he hit his head on a glass sign when he fell, well a few days ago he "popped" what he thought was spot on his forehead and out came a shard of glass. And get this - he'd been suffering from some serious headaches recently but now the glass has gone he's headache free. Weird. More. |

So we were in Dalston Market the other day generally buying stuff from nice people and pointing at pugarianian dogs and we fancied a latte (still a girls drink) so into a coffee shop we did walk.
There was a bit of a wait but the place was full of good looking people so I didn't mind too much but soon after I'd made friends with some Americans I heard the most amazing sound coming from the shops speakers. It sounded like the worst of YES, I'm talking Tales from Topograghic Oceans bad crossed with Bill Bruford then smashed together with the worst bit of Tin Machine with a twist of Asia and ELP. Bloody awful to most people I guess but I loved it and I couldn't leave the shop until I found out who the artist was. Battles was the band and Atlas was the track and yes I've gone out and bought it on the strength of hearing that one "song". Gary Glitter and Pinky and Perky are both drawn on as well. Has anyone out there heard of either of them or am I alone in the World ? ⚠️ Last edited by Bill Dog on UTC; edited 1 time

My mistake Broadway Market and yes I did swan out like Graham Norton it has to be said.
C'mon We'd just ordered 2 latte's which is still officially a girls drink so I think I had the right to camp it up. Anyway Genie what do you care ? It made you laugh. Jess, Asia was Geoff Downs from the Buggles, John Wetton from UK, Steve Howe from Yes and Carl Plamer from Emerson Lake and Palmer. Geoff Downs was in Yes but only for 1 album I believe which was Drama. Rick Wakeman and John Anderson had left only to be replaced by Trevor Horn and Geoff Downs from the Buggles - Video Killed the Radio Star and all that. It didn't go that well and I think I may have seen them on that tour. |

Sorry Jess I totally missed the joke. I was taking it literally.
Whose the dumbass now ? Moi. Genie I don't think that Bluewater is that Chavtastic. Lakeside is a major Chavfest if you really want to live the pikey dream. Still at least we had a good breakfast even if we did have to send it back the first time. Yes we actually complained to the nice man in Carluccios but not all was lost because in the resturant was Skeletor, Micheal Jackson and a lady whose hold ups wouldn't hold up. Anyway we left for a blast up the A2 waving ta ta to Mr and Mrs Wonder en route then on to Genie's for some serious helmet polishing and then a nice slow ride home when only 2 people tried to kill me. I have to say the GT seems to run very well in these cold temps and the Caberg is working out very well I must say. Agreed it is a bit noisey but not much more than an open face so I'm not losing much. Bill xx Kam I have no idea why I bring out the camp in you. Answers on a postcard. Wonder I'm very impressed with you finding Battles/Atlas. It's such a different sound isn't it ? Play it more than three times and you won't be able to get it out of your head. Anyone else care to join in the Battles debate ? |

Unfortunately I had prior plans to meet a friend for lunch at Bluewater on Sunday, so I did at least get out in the nice weather but didn't go as far as I'd have liked or on the kind of road I'd have liked. (Were you guys there on Sunday? Curses. Where do you park? I always use the 'official unofficial' bike parking outside M&S.)
Then I went to IKEA, and I am delighted to report that you can fit a double duvet in a GP800 top box. Also, on Saturday, the breakdown man came and persuaded my ET4 to start with a judicious application of electricity (the battery, even though fully charged, didn't contain enough to get it going). It was still tetchy this morning, mind. |
