Wooden legs but real feet
I run 26 psi in the front but I've had good results running 31 and even 32 in the back which I believe is the pillion pressure setting.
It feels a bit more firm in the back running a bit more then the textbook 29. I'll probably wear the rear out sooner but it does feel a little bit more planted in the corners. The Hornet has been fully cleaned and has had it's two coatings of Farecla and Cherry Glaze ready for it's run down to Spider and Tracy's in the morning. I'm going to make the best of the dry weather before it all closes in again. Love and Rockets Bill xx |

Squeeee!!! Just received a call from my handy-dandy Vespa dealer that yellow will indeed be one of the colors of the LX150ie's coming this Spring (I'd told him previously that yellow was my 1st choice and to ring me when he found out something). Told him to do the dealer equivalent of putting on aside for me. How does one put a Vespa 'on hold' for unknown months?
Soooo, now all I have to do is wait for the cute little fukker to come in - as early as March, ha ha - and I'll have my new small-frame. Eeep! I'd love to keep Juicy for the hubby for when he's ready for something bigger than his Buddy 125 but I may have to trade her in to get the yellow one. Bugger. Haven't run the girl around since I moved back home last month. It's been really stormy here for a while, but should probably try to zip her around a bit to keep her blood pumping before I'm laid up from surgery Monday and can't ride for yet another month. Vrooom. |

Oh that sounds great creth - good for you. The Vespa gods have smiled on you for sure. Did you get confirmation of what "shade" of yellow it is? Yellow is right up there on the visibility scale, that's why I'm asking

I'm assuming it's the same yellow (Giallo Lime) that's on the new LX150ie's on the Italian site right now: http://www.it.vespa.com/it_IT/vespa/lx/lx_150_ie/default.aspx

Vanish
So yesterday I washed and polished off the Hornet and the Ka and for a few moments they looked pretty good but then in the evening I drove up to a country pub to meet a mate and on the return journey it rained and by the time I got home it was filthy again. Arse.
So this morning I washed it off again. Later on I set off on dry roads on the Hornet down to Canterbury to catch up with Spider and Tracy and yes by the time I got there the belly pan and wheel arches were covered in cak from the still drying roads further East so Spider let me wash them both off with a hose then off I rode to some more friends in Canterbury. By the time I left it was raining that horrid heavy drizzle that makes the roads really greasy so once again by the time I got the Hornet home it needed another wash off and polish because it was covered in road film. Usually I'm quite nervous in the rain but today I quite enjoyed my run back down the A28/A20 on a wet surface. The Leeds bends were interesting at 65 mph on a wet surface but for once I didn't tread lightly and I got away with it. Bill XX |

So Bill, you cleaned your scooter three times in one day? That's hardcore!
Sounds like you had a good ride , though. I spent most of the afternoon in the car, in heavy traffic, on the A1 on my way back from Lincolnshire. Rock on. |

Onions around my head.
Washed it twice and polished it once as I did the Ka.
Yeah it was a bit strange enjoying a ride in the rain but it was on a road that I know very well even if it did involve a bend that I destroyed an RDLC 350 on many years ago. I'm better if the road surface is fully wet but it's that stage when the road is a bit greasy that I can't stand. You know when it's drying out or it's been hot and sunny for a while and it starts to rain ? well that's when I'm a bit skittish. For some bizarre reason my temp gauge went up towards the upper 1/4 this afternoon eventhough it was very cold out there. Later on it returned to normal. Weird. Bill XX |

I'm the same. No rain, good. Fully rainy, good. Drizzly, or just having started raining...dangerous. Nothing's washed away yet.
You're a tad obsessive about the cleanliness of your scoot, you know that, Bill? Someday, if we ever meet, I'm gonna use my reflection in its finish to put on my lipstick. Yarp. |

Yes I do and yes I am obsessive about it.
Like my Ka, it's my pride and joy. S'cuse the pun but it reflects on me if it's looking pin sharp. Because it doesn't get commuted every day it's my little treat at the weekends. Get me ? It's a shame that I don't pay as much attention to my dress sense eh ? Bill XX |

I have a beef with their suggestion that it's only for gentlemen - yum! (I was on the Twiglets last night myself.)
Enjoyed the bike show at Excel: bought some summer boots, also a Caberg Trip in Bent Copper for £60; almost bought Bill a T-shirt that said 'POLISH MY HELMET'. Would anyone be up for a gentle rideout from Pratts Bottom to the Cock Inn for a spot of lunch? I was planning to run it on Sunday March 7th if there were any takers. The route still needs some work so I'll have another go at it between now and then. |

I hope you are all well. I have nothing new to add to this thread I am afraid, well nothing interesting anyway. I have observed however that sons who have the same name as their fathers, who in turn have the same name as their grand fathers are not the brightest. Why repetition waters down intelligence I have no idea. I have also noticed these same people tend to not know which way their head is screwed on when putting on a baseball cap. |

I use a PCL tyre gauge at work and I think I may have a spare one if you can wait a couple of weeks.
Let me see if I can locate it. For some reason I don't trust digital ones. Bill XX |

While we're on the subject, my faithful foot pump has started to leak some air where the tube emerges from the body. Anything I can do about this other than buy a new one? It's only a Halfords thing and it's seen a lot of service, I just dislike waste. My first thought was to tighten something up but I can't find anything that will.
